Do you ever seem to lose your "fervent desire" to read or study the scriptures on a daily basis?

And if that's the case, how do manage to get that strong, passionate desire back?

never completely but it does wax and wane.

it seems to have a mind of its own so i need do anything to coax it to return.

The world intrudes. 2 months ago I was 25+ days ahead on my plan, now I'm down to 17 days ahead.

It helps that I have a way to easily track it. Just need to gather the resolve.

Happens quite a bit for me. At times, I'll scarf down a huge serving of scripture, while some days, I don't even open the Bible. It used to not be like that for me. I can make excuses, but it just comes down to me not putting in the effort like I ought to.

The way I see it is the Lord's mercies are new every morning and each day is a new day to start over and get back on track. It's about eating the elephant one bite at a time with consistency.

It's hard for me to stay consistent. I've found that when I take a certain medication (I take it as needed, not most days) it's more difficult to find motivation to read in general, which does affect my interest in reading scriptures.

Apart from that, I'm nowhere near as consistent as I should be. But there seems to be a connection between my prayer life and my interest in reading the Bible. I have a really hard time with spontaneous prayer. I get very distracted.

One of the reasons I come here is that it keeps me learning every day. It keeps me thirsty for the word.
