That ALL believers have Him indwelling them, but up to us to have Him infilling us?

Ephesians 5:18 makes it clear. 18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; That is a command we as believers are to be filled (controlled by) the Holy spirit.

While Pauls says in Ephesians 1:12 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.
13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.

Paul says we are sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise that is the indwelling of the Spirit that seals us.

1 Corinthians 6:19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

The Holy Spirit is indwelling our bodies if our is His temple.

You need to expand this with a little more detail......

When we are saved, we get ALL the Holy Ghost has to offer, and nothing less. Now, there are times we can feel Him making a stronger presence than at other times, but He is always there, and will never leave us.

All of us are sealed by the HS, and he comes to reside within us, BUT the Apostle paul seems to teach us that its our choice to IF he actually fills us...

Which I take as saying that IF we live by our selves, in our sternght, we are NOT being lead and empowered, IE filled by the HS at that time!

Don't know if I truly have a grasp on what you are conveying here, so if I err, please forgive me. When the Holy Ghost takes up His abode in our lives, we get all that He has to offer. We don't get a "little" here, and a "little" there, but the Holy Ghost hits us with "both barrels", nothing more and nothing less.

When we step out of line, we get the "rod of correction", showing us that we belong to God. I do not see this as being filled by the Spirit, but rather, getting spanked for being unruly. This shows us that we are His, for God chastens them that He loves.

If I have missed the mark on what you are really asking, please let me know. I do not want to derail this thread.

A Christian can still be empowered by his own flesh so to speak, can try to live for God by his own might and natural means...

basically, unless we allow the HS to take charge and enable/empower us to live for Christ, he allows us to fail until we come to Him and live in HIS power and means!

So not ALL saints are living for God way the Lord intended for them, as they deny allowing the HS to energize them to live for Christ!

basically, the HS will enable us to live the overcoming life, as he is the very source of our power to live for God, as "just" getting new life in Cjhrsit is NOT the way to victorious living!
