I support those of the liberal persuasion taking their places of our men and women on the front lines. Let the liberal agenda take up the banner of defending our country for a while. Then our men and women can come home while our liberal agenda serves a short 36 month tour of duty.

 

We could start by putting them on our own borders and at our own ports. To me, that would be defending our country for awhile, not the way it's been done in Iraq by the Commander in Chief.

 

Our military is made up of liberals, moderates, & conservatives, among others. Liberals are already there defending your rights.

 

Respectfully, I spent too long defending your rights to think that I need a liberal dying in Iraq to defend my rights.

I pray that liberals might learn to defend this country and our way of life.

Freedom? Freedom is defined in how we live for Jesus.

 

This is a hard one for me. The war in Iraq was started under false pretenses and it is hard to say that it was the best act to protect the US when there are other actions that are needed as well: Afghanastan, Our borders, pending conflicts with North Korea or Iran, etc. Instead, in a lot of ways terrorism was used and an excuse to start a war in Iraq.

On the other hand, the bell cannot be unrung, and to reduce troops or pull out now could be even worse in the long run.

So I'll just pray for wisdom for our leaders and safety for our troops.

 

It is difficult for me to understand why our leaders (liberal and conservative) allowed the islamic leadership to lead into war in Iraq so that they might have the opportunity to target and murder Americans . . . since they cannot sneak into our country as easily as they once did.

Yes, terrorism was used to lure us into the war.

But, why we believed a bunch of lying muslims, I will never know.

 

I am of the opinion that this is the last chance.

If an escalation can not do anymore than is already happening, or if things worsen, we should cut our losses and get out.

I am willing to see one last shot just for the hope that it might help. I really want us to at least partially stabilize the country and for the Iraqi forces to take and maintain control of their own country.

But, if it can't be done, it can't be done. This will prove whether throwing more troops into the fire will help or hurt.

We should not be over there for years to come trying to straighten out their country. Either they want it or they don't.

If they want an extremist regime, then they can have it. But, they shouldn't then be surprised if we have to come back in 10 or 20 years and bomb them back to before the stone age.

Half of those people will always view us as Satan, no matter what we do for them. They are not like other enemies we have fought before.

 

The outspoken liberals are busy tearing down our defenses, and destroying our Constitutional liberties.

 

I firmly believe the President was genuine in his decision making concerning the war on terror.

 

I am against any escalation in troop levels in Iraq.

We need to start troop withdrawal ASAP!

I support the surge if we send enough troops to really make a difference in destroying the enemy.

It's amazing that we sent 500,000 troops to free Kuwait, a state the size of connecticut... and send 125,000 to free and occupy Iraq.

OK I would agree and disagree. If we are going to continue to fight this as a political action, then we need to somehow leave while minimizing the loss of life, probably take many years. I'm open to debate on this.

On the other hand, get some Schwartzkopf like generals, task them with cleaning up Iraq of its radical element, give them a full checkbook and increase the troop levels necessary to accomplish the task. Keep Washington's liberal rabble rousers out of it, abolish the media, except for posterity.
