Doctors Support Universal Healthcare

I suppose most Teamsters support a universal garbage collection plan. <G>

 

CTB, I read back a few years ago, the Czech doctors were leaving your country by the thousands, due to gov't installed salary caps. Has that trend abated ?

 

This type of "survey" is worse than useless.

The story lead line should have said:

More than half of U.S. doctors who bothered to respond now favor switching to a national health care plan...

 

And why would the portion of doctors who did not bother to respond to the poll have a different ratio? Are those who dislike polls less likely to support universal health care?

 

Actually, GD, many who are either not concerned one way or another will probably not respond. Many who might respond conditionally pro or con don't see their postion clearly represented in the survey and so wont respond. Those who feel strongly are most likely to respond... and of those .... those who see their response as an action for change are more likely to respond than those who are dissatified with the current system but don't support the choices in the poll.

There were two choices, support or oppose national health insurance. Those who were dissatisfied with the current system but didn't support national health insurance would pick oppose.

I'm a Canadian who has been living in Sydney for the last year. I subscribe to a national newspaper and have not heard about any changes to land rights in Queensland.

 

This poll is only ridiculous if one doesn't like universal health care.

 

Don't give me that. The U.S. spends about $10 Billion a year on health care for illegals. That's a well known fact.

Which kind is that? The ones that ask people whether they support or oppose something and then report the results?

 

Surveys of this kind are useless as they're only a supposition dependant on the willingness of those to respond. There is no way of knowing for sure the leanings of those who refused to participate .......unless you're Clara Voiant....

Now.....if you make a poll or survey compulsory....you might have a point. But there are many intelligent and busy people who think deeper than surveys.... and know that most surveys (and polls) are designed towards a particular persuasion.

Then again, isn't it presumptive that we believe the percentages cited are truthful?????? Who recorded the survey? Who audited them during the survey? Who or how can a 'recount' be done to confirm the accuracy? How was it determined that all responders were qualified to respond in accordance to the terms underwhich the survey is reported?
