Here are some statements that have been made and I wonder with all the discussions of Soteriology and Calvinism vs. Armenianism and a whole slew of other similar discussions on faith and attonement that these points be looked at
Now this next item should start a dialogue because it definately is not Calvanism;
I'm curious of your discussions
(Sole Deus?)Salvation comes from God alone
(God initiates and mans response should be faith?)By his revelation, the invisible God, from the fullness of his love, addresses men as his friends, and moves among them, in order to invite and recieve them into his own company. The adequate response to this invitation is faith
(what would Calvin or Armenius would say in regards to this?)Faith is a gift of God, a supernatural virtue infused by him. Before this faith can be exercised, man must have the grace of God to move and assist him
(is this true?)By faith man, man completely submits his intellect and his will to God...Faith is first of all a personal adherence of man to God...it is a free assent to the whole truth that God has revealed
Now this next item should start a dialogue because it definately is not Calvanism;
Faith is entirely a free gift that God makes to man. We can lose this priceless gift, as Paul indicated to Timothy: "You may fight the good fight, holding onto faith and a good conscience. Some have rejected these and so have shipwreck their faith." To live, grow, and perserve in the faith until the end we must nourish it with the word of God; we must ask the Lord to increase our Faith; it must be "working through love" abounding in hope, and rooted in the Faith.
