Does Exodus 1:1 support Armininism?

1 Now these are the names of the children of Israel, which came into Egypt; every man and his household came with Jacob.

Obviously it does because the parents chose the names. Deep huh.

Sure it does.

How could "every man and his household" that "came with Jacob" come without having to choose to come?

But in support of the cal. side, where did that choice ultimately end up?

Slavery :(

Furthermore, every Calvinist who ever lived has always believed that people make choices.

That is not the issue.

Non-cals regurgitate in a never ending cycle the silly diatribe, "MEN MAKE CHOICES- THE BIBLE SAYS SO!"

And the Calvinist just says, "Yea... AND???"

The question is WHY do men choose what they choose.

That is where the issue lies- not whether or not men MAKE choices but WHY they make the choices they make.

As a sinner, I chose to please my flesh. And I freely chose it, to boot.

How can one who is a slave to sin and death, ruled by the nature of sin and death, choose other than what is ultimately sinful and leads to death?

Not much freedom of choice in that condition.

Not much freedom of choice in that condition.

The sad part was, I knew what I was doing, where I was headed, was enjoying it, and had no desire to stop. Satan and sinners are the true "fatal attraction". I thank God that when I wouldn't stop myself, He stepped in and put His foot on my brakes, grabbed the steering wheel, and turned me around. And I am ever so thankful He did. I wouldn't have by myself.

Freedom means the ability to do what you want to do.

Sinners want to sin. That is ALL sinners want to do. That's why we call them sinners.

Sinners are absolutely free to do what they want to do- sin.

And everything a sinners does is sin.

The Bible says, "The PLOWING of the wicked is sin."

The Bible says, "Their RIGHTEOUSNESSES are as filthy rags."

Everything the sinner does whether he volunteers for boyscouts or helps an old lady across the street- EVERYTHING he does is sin.

Whatsoever is not of faith is sin- that's what the Bible says.

Everything not done for God's glory is sin.

Sinners do not do things for God's glory. They do things for their own purposes- even if it is seemingly good things.

Motive is everything.

Sinners are free to do what they want to do- sin.

Nothing in the bible supports Arminianism as it is a false teaching, there is no Arminian text of scripture in the bible.

I remember about 29 years ago today when our first kid was born. We were both in our 30s at the time. Anyway, my wife was asleep and this woman comes in with a clipboard and pad. She asked if we had decided on a name. I said yes we have, it is Judas Lucifer. She just stood there in silence, like she did not know how to react. I finally said, nope, just kidding, try Joshua Michael. That was a hoot.
