is God either pro democrat/republican, based upon party platforms, or does He have a favorite for president for 2012?

[Quote is God care Who becomes next president?

According to reformed theology God controls everything! No one has free will, even to vote for a perosn, or individual! So yes, God cares!

I believe He does care, but that doesn't mean He may or may not leave us to our own devices.

When these questions come up I am reminded of Joshua 5:13-15

God does not come to take sides, He comes to take over.

But he WOULD approve more of a group more pro God and Bible, wouldn't He?

Do you have any scripture to back up that concept? God often allowed the wicked to rule in order to achieve His purpose.

It is good thing, because neither side in American politics can claim any kind of godly virtue.

Evidence? Forty years on and no matter which party has been in control America still permits the murder of innocent children.

Not only does he care, God will determine who wins!

But...He may allow the least Godly man to win in order to grow the faith of his people living under such a leader...

Unless one of them is a child of God neither is any more godly than the other.

Then you would agree with me that if forced to choose, we should as Christians side with which ever person/group agrees to be pro life, not for abortion?
That would be a 'Non negiotable?"

However neither party is truly pro-life in their actions.

Sorry, but no. The votes of the citizens, We the People, select America's leader, through the electoral college. If you missed it, we threw out rule by divine right back in 1776.

Point is that God sets up rulers, and also demotes them, as per His divine plans and purposes!

To my knowledge the New Testament predates 1776 by more than a couple centuries.

    The Supreme Court

Didn't the Supreme Court take the issue of abortion out of the hands of the President and Congress?

What could Bush have done to stop abortion?

    John

BTW, I do agree with you that abortion is a terrible thing and needs to be stopped, I just want to know how we can stop it.

    Liberal Christians? An oxymoron?

I am new here, but judging by your post, I would assume that you are very liberal and use your logic to justify voting for and supporting liberals, which includes socialism, abortion, and gay rights.

    Am I right?

How do Christians do this? I am not questioning your salvation, just your judgement.

Wow, you sure think you can get my position on a wide range of issues from that post. Quite presumptuous. If standing up for government "of the people, by the people, and for the people" makes one a liberal, I'd say that I am in good company.

    BTW, welcome to the BB.

As Depressing As This May Appear....

....If God really cared about who becomes the next president, I have to ask why did He give us Obama? :tonofbricks:

Maybe we have Obama to warn us of just how close we are coming to the place where we will lose His complete blessing and unconditional favor on America? :tear:

I'm sure this will evoke some emotions, so go ahead and dump on me; jump on me; and feel free to judge me according to your theological stand.

I can just about predict who will try to tear this opinion to pieces, and put words in my mouth!

I have to agree wtih you.

Even in biblical times God gave people the leaders they deserved.

Maybe Obama is who we deserved.
