That question remminds me of an old joke.

A fellow died and went up to heaven where he meet St. Peter. St. Peter said come along with me and i'll show you around.They came to the first door St. Peter opened it and said this is where all of the pentacostals are,they were all having a glorious time.Next they went to another door St. Peter opened it and everybody there was having a glorious time,St. Peter said this is where all the catholics stay. They went to the third door St. Peter said I'm going to open this door too but you have to be quiet.The gentleman asked why and sT. Peter said these are (pick your denomination)they think they are up here by themselves and he opened the door and they were having a great time also.

If the Messenger (God) is not divided (unified) and Holy, and His Message (word) is not divided (Gal 6:1ff), did can God through his word produce various denominations?

Well Yeah! It's called "Christian" (Acts 11:26: I Peter 4:16!); "the way"; "my sheep"; "the church"; "the bride" and "whosoever", and "the redeemed" among other names given, in other places. It definitely is his favorite, as he has only one- ya' know, kinda' like he has an only Son. There just ain't no more, at least not attributable to God!

I'm not sure if the word "favorite" is what I would use, but I think that God must prefer those who adhere closely to biblical doctrine. I feel that God directed me to become an Independent Fundamental Baptist as an answer to my prayer concerning which denomination He would have me to be.

As an aside, if we agree that God has a purpose for our life and that He doesn't mislead us, why would anyone call themselves Baptist if they didn't believe that the Baptist denomination is where God wants them? And why would He want them there if it wasn't His preferred denomination?

There is not a denonination that I would give my life for.
THere is a savior that I would have to be willing to give my life for.

Did our savior give His life for a denomintion or for whosoever believeth in him.
