(Jump)...You are missing what aionios does mean and what it can not mean. Therefore you are missing the application of aionios life in Scripture.

I took your analysis of the word aionios and applied it to scripture (John 3:15).

According to your post about the term aionios never meaning life without end, John 3:15 cannot be saying life without end. Is this not correct?

One thing that is contained in most Greek textbooks that I have seen is "the semantic domain of an adjective cannot properly exceed the semantic domain of the noun from which it's formed." (This is an amalgamation and paraphrase and much shorter than the pages that are sometimes spent on this concept.)

Then, many people go on to teach, "Except in this one case."

Can you show me another example in Scriptures of an adjective's semantic domain exceeding the semantic domain of the noun from which it's formed? Can you show me one outside of Scripture that did not occur later? Can you show me one that did occur later?

Can you show me an example in English of "eternal" meaning "forever and ever and ever" prior to the 17th century?

If John 3:15 is not talking about "forever and ever" (and it's not), does that mean that God never talks about "forever and ever"? Why or why not?

What does it mean to perish?

How does one perish, or lose one's life, if he doesn't have a life to lose?

Do you believe OSAS?

(Hope)...Last I checked, it's the shepherd who does the separating.

Is there an example in Scriptures of the sheep and goats separating themselves?

(Hope)....Except that we are given those things as types, and the type that we are given is that cows, goats, and sheep are holy animals. That's why he's the "Lamb of God", and he's the firstborn of the lambs.

It is your statement. Are you a lamb? Or do you want to change that to he's the firstborn of the lambs, goats and cows?

And if Peter Piper picked a peck of peppers, how many peppers did Peter Piper pick?

I don't need to know any greek to know that I follow Jesus.

You know all that greek and still don't know if you follow Jesus.

There is only ONE Gospel according to Gal 1:6-11 and that is the Gospel of the Kingdom - God is King of all the Universe and all intelligent life is created by Him and will serve him in unity once sin on this earth is ended.

The imagined gospel of "going to hell for 1000 years then heaven" is never mentioned -- no not even once -- in all of scripture.

Matt 24
9 "" Then they will deliver you to tribulation, and will kill you, and you will be hated by all nations because of My name.[/b]
10 ""At that time many will fall away and will betray one another and hate one another.
11 ""Many false prophets will arise and will mislead many
.

12 ""Because lawlessness is increased, most people's love will grow cold.
13 "" But
the one who endures to the end, he will be saved.

Matt 24
14 ""
This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come.

in Christ,

Bob

This is a problem with taking pictures and making too much of them. They are there to illustrate a truth, but trying to make them all fit together into a big picture is a waste of time and will only confuse things.

What is the truth trying to be illustrated in saying that goats, sheep, and cows are all holy?

Why is Jesus the Lamb?

Goats, sheep, cows are all clean animals acceptable for sacrifice. Equating goats with unsaved people would make less sense than calling them dogs or pigs.

Jesus is the lamb of God, because He was provided as a passover sacrifice for us. The picture of the passover is a lamb without blemish, which showed Jesus' sinless nature.

Whether Jesus is the first born sheep I know not. I think that is mixing metaphors.

Following Jesus now doesn't mean following Jesus tomorrow.
John 6:66 From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.

Sorry, James, I think I misunderstood what you were saying earlier. I thought you were saying that unsaved people are called clean. Did I misunderstand?

(Hope)...What does the fact that he's the firstborn of the lambs have to do with whether goats and cows are clean animals?

Nothing. Why is Jesus not the firstborn of the goats and cows as well if they are all holy?

You forgot to answer........Are you a lamb?

All three of these animals are holy.

All holy animals are one of these three, not all three at the same time.
