Does politics make you mean and nasty?

It does me. I was reading the posts here and from other sites, and the phone rang and it was some solicitation for a well-known insurance company with some woman identifying then saying, "How are you doing today?" I shouted into the phone, "IT'S NONE OF YOUR BUSINES HOW I'M DOING! JUST DON'T CALL THIS ____ NUMBER AGAIN!!" I don't know if I'll murder somebody or not before this 'political season' is over, then brag about it like the Obama campaign brags about him murdering bin Laden, but I can't say it's impossible.

LOL. My wife was actually snapping back at Joe Biden last night during his speech. I've never seen her do that sort of thing. Asked about it she sheepishly admitted she had been listening to talk radio all day.

I'm sick of politicians treating us like we're blind stupid idiots. I might actually vote for one that would be completely honest and tell us "I can't do a thing for you personally, but I'll try to keep the other idiots from ruining everything." I'm so tired of the lies, of the taking of personal responsibility (especially when it's been proven otherwise) and the promises that mean nothing. I'm sick of the constant debates, arguments, postings, FB postings, etc......enough is enough.

Turn off the TV for a bit. Seriously, we cutoff our cable TV service several months ago and while get annoyed a bit reading or watching some of the comments online I am not as nearly agitated as I have been in the past.

Listening to KLOVE, AIR1, or another Christian music station has been very helpful too.

Couldn't say about myself since I am mean and nasty all the time.

Different story for Saturn Neptune, S/N for short. Politics really gets to him. Just look at that thread "OR Is A Closet Democrat". Mean and nasty I say. And it is all because of politics.:BangHead: Normally he is a nice guy for a "flatlander". The only problem is that S/N lives, sleeps, and eats politics 365/24. I say "Thank God for Leap Year"!:godisgood:

Its, easy for a politician to make a promise of " I will vote against a pay raise for Congress" because he knows it will probably pass anyways. Here was the promise I made when I ran for the NY State Assembly. "I will vote against a pay raise for the Assembly and if it passes, I will give any raise to a 501c within my district." I also promised that I would complete my term of office (only exception would be a true emergency) I get sick and tired of politicians who run for a higher office. How can they serve their current constituents while campaigning elsewhere.

Vote no and take the dough.

In NY, the salary is about $80,000. That would have been more than double of my then taxi job. And the job is only supposed to be part time.

Virtually every State/Commonwealth is experiencing financial woes. I understand that a few thousand may not make a big difference, but it does set an example.
