Does the NT contain church doctrines?

There are people which think that a few unbiblical things made their way into the bible.

The admonition was that the members of the churches should pay heed to their prophets. These were talents/gifts given to them by God. Also, since women were prophets in both old and new testaments, it doesn't indicate anywhere, except in the societal norms of their times, that they should only be prophets for sunday school class. It was a false teaching, inserted into the otherwise female friendly teachings of Jesus and the Apostles.
Why'd He allow polygamy and then by the time of the New Testament, outlaw it? Cause He didn't have anything to do with that aspect of it. It's a societal norm. The other verses support women teaching and being involved in the spread of the Gospel. If there is no longer male or female in Jesus, THERE IS NO LONGER MALE OR FEMALE IN JESUS.

These are two very different comments, and I wonder about the context.

In any case, there are some cases in Scripture where the time of the writing and the intention of the writer play into interpretation.

Yes the NT contains Church doctrine. But the Church has also established doctrine down through the years this based on the fact that the Church is the pillar of truth.

In case I am delayed so that you may know how one is to behave in God's household, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and foundation of the truth. 1 Timothy 3:15 ISV

The word doctrine means teaching.
We are taught from the entire New Testament. Every book contains doctrine, if not every verse in some way.

In 2Timothy 3:14-17 we learn that all true doctrine comes from scripture. Our Bible contains 66 books -- (some people only have 27 but most of us use 66) and that is where doctrine comes from.

In Christ,

Love your Neighbor as yourself (Lev 19:18).

Love God with all your heart (Deut 6:5)

The Ten Commandments Exodus 20.

ALL of Scripture (ALL 66 books assuming you will accept the Nt after 2Tim 3 is written!) 2Tim 3:15-17!

I agree Bob, the OT and the NT teach the same lessons and all, one was just before Jesus came, and the other is His earthly inistry and what happened(happens), (is happening), before He comes again. The whole point of the Bible is Jesus Christ, the most important name ever anywhere.

True enough - "One Lord, One Faith One Baptism" -- in fact "One Gospel" in all ages Gal 1:6-11

Like the guy you quoted said: it's a societal thing. It was common practice then, from Abraham down (or up, whichever way you want).
