Does the RCC Still teach IF a catholic Rejects the faith, Cannot be resaved?

I was a Catholic for 38 years, and that is what I was taught. That is what I was told by a deacon of the church when I made the decision to leave -- he actually shook his finger in my face and told me that I was in denial of the truth if I left the Catholic Church. Fortunately, I knew from scripture that this is not true.
That was 15 years ago, so I don't know if this has changed.
I am currently enrolled in an RCIA inquirers class. It's amazing how many former Catholics are coming back and how many evangelicals are coming into the Catholic Church. I have had a pastor recently shouting at me too for my decision, doesn't make him any more right than the deacon that shook his finger in your face for yours. BTW, I was told similarly that I was in denial of the truth. Funny how it can go both ways. People leave the Catholic Church for a variety of reasons all the time. People leave fundamentalist churches for the Catholic Church all the time too.
It is also interesting that, although nobody want to come out and outright say that 'Thinkingstuff' was probably never saved to begin with, that is what has been incinuated and what most of you HAVE to conclude to satisfy your theology since you don't believe in apostosy.

What I have found is that MOST who left the RCC never were saved!
Just think about this though!
IF the RCC says offocially that ex catholic rejecting the RCC doctrines cannot be saved, is salvation found in jesus or in the Church?
What is most telling is that neither you or anyone else really wants to address the problem with your theology. 'Thinkingstuff' clearly is 'a fly in the ointment'. It is obvious to ANYONE who has followed the threads on this board for any length of time that 'Thinkingstuff' once had the same faith that the other evangelicals on this board profess. He became convinced after many years of study that the Catholic Church was the true Apostolic faith. He is now Catholic. Some have incinuated that he must never have been truly saved to begin with and others have said that if he is truly born again he will be miserable in the Catholic Church. He has testified that he is not only not miserable but sees fruit as a result of his return to Catholicism. I have a close relative that has also become Catholic after many years of being a 'born-again Baptist'. She also is not 'miserable' and is involved in evangelism in her parish. I have no doubts that my aunt was 'born-again' in the same way that you understand and in the same way 'Thinkingstuff' was and understood it. They are now very happy as Catholics. Doesn't fit your theology though and really blows a hole in it.
The problem with your SUBJECTIVE straw man argument is that it is purely external and/or logical human evaluation.
If he was actually and really saved prior to his apostasy to Roman Catholocism he is still actually and really saved as changing denominations does not damn or save anyone.
If he was actually and really a false professor prior to his apostasy to Roman Catholocism he is still a false professor as Rome offers no true gospel to save anyone.
Instead of a Subjective rationale there is the objective inspired word that states that true believers never turn antichrist but always continue and if they do not continue they were never really saved in the first place but going away from Christ revealed their true identity (1 Jn. 2:19). Jesus said the same thing of those who departed from him in John 6:64-65.
is salvation found in the person/work of Christ upon the Cross, that we are freely and fully approved/justified by god due to that, or else is it in the RC mediating it out in dribbles through sacremental graces?
Catholics believe salvation has been achieved by the Atonement.
What I must do to be saved?
* I must confess my sins. James 5:16, I John 1:9, John 20:19-23
* I must do the will of God the Father. Matthew 7:21
*I must be baptized with water and the Spirit. Mark 16:16, John 3:3-5, Titus 3:5, I Peter 3:20-21. (Exceptions: [1] If I desire Baptism but die before I can be baptized with water and the Spirit, God accepts my desire to be baptized, and [2] If I am killed (martyred) because of my faith, but I have not had the opportunity to be baptized, God accepts my death as my baptism, called the Baptism of Blood).
* I must eat the flesh and drink the blood of Jesus Christ. John 6:51-58, I Corinthians 10:16-17, 11:23-30
Now you can go about twisting scripture all you want. I know your doctrines dictate that you must, but I believe they are clear and they always were troublesome when I ran across them while being brought up a Baptist.
What we need to do per the Lord is to call upon the name of jesus, believing that he died for our sins, rose again, and confess with our Mouths that he is Lord!
