Donald Trump Is Opening The Dumbest Cocktail Bar In America

The bar at the new Trump International Hotel in Washington, Benjamin’s Bar and Lounge, is a sprawling space with high ceilings, few customers and too-sweet cocktails that go for $20 to $100, the most expensive being the bar’s namesake, a concoction of rye, potato and winter wheat vodka, shaken and served with raw oysters and caviar. There is also, inexplicably, a section of the menu called BY THE CRYSTAL SPOON that offers literal spoonfuls of wine for anywhere from $15 to $140.

Gotta ask.....so what? I don't get this one at all. $20-$100 cocktails are nothing new...unless perhaps some are now suggesting alcohol should be an entitlement, "and a drink in every hand" (and given this election, I'm not sure that I'd disagree....If I drank).

CTB, if there's a market for such an establishment why not fill it?

It will be interesting to see how much business the bar does. He certainly is not attempting to do business with the people supporting him.

Is this price gouging an indication of what he would do to the American people?

The folks that make Rolls Royce, Ferrari, and Lamborghini cars looking at the same market. The same can be said of top of the line Mercedes and Porsche. Nobody says these manufacturers are "price gouging."

Price gouging only occurs if there's a limited number of sources for a market item. In this case, people can freely choose to go elsewhere to get their drunk on, and aren't required to pay these exorbitant prices. So, no "price gouging."

Your inflammatory language is simply a sad attempt to cast a derogatory light on Trump.

Right, price gouging is when you take the advantage of people in unusual circumstances - jacking up the price of firewood with an electrical outage, the cost of building materials after a major hurricane, things like that. This is just a posh bar but I find it relatively inexpensive compared to the cost of Hillary's pay-to-play "donations".
