    Proverbs 18:10 (KJV1611 Edition):
The name of the Lord is a a strong tower:
the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.

I found this in e-Sword. But it is also in
the Nelson 1611 reproduction. Needless to say,
there are no double "a a" in the KJV1769 or KJV1873.

Strong's says this of the word translated
    'safe' in the KJV1611:

    H7682
    שׂגב
    śâgab
    saw-gab'
A primitive root; to be (causatively make) lofty, especially inaccessible; by implication safe, strong; used literally and figuratively: - defend, exalt, be excellent, (be, set on) high, lofty, be safe, set up (on high), be too strong.

I have no agenda item other than to prove
    that all reliable English translations
    are individually and collectively
the inerrant Written Word of God.

    Some other versions:

Proverbs 18:10 (HCSB = The Holman Christian Standard Bible):
    The name of the Lord is a strong tower;
the righteous run to it and are protected.

    Proverbs 18:10 (KJV1769):
The name of the LORD is a strong tower:
the righteous runneth into it, and is safe. F88
    -------------------------------------------------------------
    FOOTNOTES:
    F88: safe: Heb. set aloft

Proverbs 18:10 (RSV = The Revised Standard Version):
    The name of the LORD is a strong tower;
the righteous man runs into it and is safe.

OF course, the RSV gets no credit for following the KJV here???

    Proverbs 18:10 (The Darby Translation):
The name of Jehovah is a strong tower:
the righteous runneth into it, and is safe. F194
    -----------------------------------------------
    FOOTNOTES:
F194: Or 'unapproachable;' lit. 'set in a high retreat:' see Ps. 20.1.

    Proverbs 18:10 (The Message):
God's name is a place of protection - good
people can run there and be safe.

    Proverbs 18:10 (Amplified Bible):
The name of the Lord is a strong
    tower; the [consistently] righteous
man [upright and in right standing with
God] runs into it and is safe, high
    [above evil] and strong.

I had missed or overlooked that printing error
in the 1611 edition. It is also not listed in
David Norton's appendix 1 that lists "printer's errors in the first edition" (TEXTUAL HISTORY OF THE KJB, pp. 167-172).

There were also some other examples of double words in the 1611 edition:

Ezek. 23:23 all the the Assyrians (1611)
    and all the Assyrians (Oxford)

Matt. 4:25 him great great (1611)
    him great (Oxford)

Matt. 16:25 lose his his life (1611)
    lose his life (Oxford)

    Luke 15:2 murmured, murmured (1611)
    murmured (Oxford)

Rom. 16:25 of the the mystery (1611)
    of the mystery (Oxford)

So much for preservation theology of the KJV as inerrant.

    The KJV1611 was perfect.
The KJV1769 was improved over the KJV1611.

Those members of the Church of the Holy Horseshoe who balk at even updated archaic words or Americanized spellings of "Saviour," ought to fight tooth and nail for the double words. If spelling Saviour as "savior" is a mark of the Antichrist, what greater evil must removing a whole word from the text represent?
