China lost 43 troops, India lost 20 troops in a border skirmish near the Himalayas. The situation is volatile right now. I learned about this thanks to the BBC, which I watch late at night. I found a blow by blow account of things by the Times of India.

India China news live: 4 Indian soldiers are in critical condition after violent face-off with Chinese troops

I always figured India was a safer enemy for China to test its military against than the US in a limited war. China hasn't faced anyone in battle in nearly 50 years. We'll see what happens.

This should take some of the pressure off of us concerning China. Now that would be a battle - 1.3 billion each.

That is the reason that Trump got such a warm welcome in India recently! They are now willing to ally with us, as they did during World War II, and they are a new source of manufacturing for work that no longer should be done in China, which is nothing should be made in China to be sold in this country.

Thanks for posting this! It was in the news a few days ago that China moved troops to the border with India and I read that India lost 20 men, some from the cold of the Himalayas as it was a high altitude skirmish. For a while China was concealing their losses so the count of 43 was news to me.

China has also threatened Hong Kong, as you know.

Trump has also moved to counter China by leasing the former Subic Bay Naval Base in order to return the US Navy to the deep water port in the Philippines where repairs can be made on large ships without going to Pearl Harbor.

Did India have a choice since it was controlled by the United Kingdom?

With Japan in Burma, it was in the interest of India to aid in the conflict in Burma. Also, India was a staging area for flying supplies over the Himalayas to China. My memory is that the UK and India made a deal for the duration of the war. Sheiks are British allies for the last three centuries or so and fought all over with the allies.

Yes. China has a policy of not using nukes unless they are used first though. India should hopefully follow suit.

Xi Jinping is a monster and must be destroyed economically at least. He is guilty of crimes against humanity. I doubt if he can trust his military with live ammunition. If he provokes India too much, they just might free Tibet from his murderous tyranny.

I have said for many years that a war between the two is coming. It is of utmost importance to The West and to Russia that those two go to war. I will leave it at that.

I don't think that China is strong enough to fight a war right now. Russia must be disappointed that India is friendlier with the West nowadays. I don't want a hot war with China but some are saying that China might start a conventional war due to the loss of economic power. If you consider the release of the Chinese virus from Wuhan as an act of biological war, then China's current military moves seem deliberate. Xi Jinping does not get the credit that he deserves for being a monster guilty of massive crimes against humanity. He is another Mao in all respects. How many millions does he have in his concentration camps in western China? I think that I heard the number 3 million from Victor Davis Hanson.
