That was back in March. Now the virus has mutated to be mask susceptible (the scientific term is metamorphosed facial prophylactic vulnerability).

The virus that causes Covid-19 is transmitted primarily through respiratory excretions.
Home-made masks and regular surgical masks will not filter our virus particles in the air but it will protect others from droplet secretions when you cough or sneeze. You are protecting others from possible exposure. When you wear a mask it shows you care about those around you.
N95 masks filter aprox 95% of particles in the air. They do provide some protection when used correctly.

Isn't it obvious if they stop your droplets from escaping into the air they would also stop others' droplets from getting in?

1. People are wearing them improperly.
2. They are not as protective as people believe.
3. The general public’s use of the masks reduces the supple needed foe health professionals.
