I think that Dr. Bhattacharya was saying the same thing but he has been viscously attacked just for saying that there is no real scientific information. It is in the interest of the media to make political hay out of this since the opposition leader Joe Biden is too senile to talk intelligently about anything. Indianapolis is going to have a lot of deaths because there are tens of thousands of homosexuals already sick with other diseases and also because there are vast ghettos and jammed city buses. There is definite panic in Indianapolis. Now the only thing in short supply is disinfectant but the grocery stores are still very busy even early in the morning. I think that Trump should end his press conferences for the time being. China did this on purpose and we are going to have more of this as soon as the Chinese find another virus in some wild animal.

This is essentially what the Dem-witted did after Trump closed the borders to China travel, they intentionally magnified the problem by their actions, even to the point of embracing "Hug a Chinese." Had they instead instituted basic measures, the epidemic needn't have accelerated to the degree it has. And apologies after the fact cannot undo that, though most have not even apologized.

In reference to an interview in another thread, particularly disturbing was a colleague's e-mailing Dr. Bhattacharya to "get with the program." What program? That sort of phrasing from one scientist to another is not about science or truth but about politics.

I'm the doctor. Benjamin is a physio I believe.

My recommendation is to encourage social distancing.

It is Aaron's sources that say that people should not worry about that and just let themselves get sick to get it over with and prioritize the economy. But I suspect that they would want everyone else to put themselves at risk for the economy, but would isolate themselves.

I definitely do not advise panic. For the average person there will be little to no impact from getting coronavirus. 80% of cases recover without hospitalization. There is a wide range of severity even there from little to no symptoms to one of the worst flu-like illness of your life. It is the 20% or so case that need hospital that are the problem. And even then, most of them will recover without ICU or a ventilator.

But the problem with both these groups is that they spread the virus very easily (and the hospitalized ones turn hospitals into epidemic sites very rapidly) and it overwhelms the hospital system because of exponential infectivity.

What I do advise is being informed about the real risks and your contribution to those risks when you don't practice physical distancing which is currently our best weapon at combating community spread.

In NSW, our physical distancing measures have kept our daily infection numbers below 200 as a state and they have been going down for the past week. Our biggest source of infections is from cruise ships but I am hearing reports that hospital acquired spread is starting to pick up steam.

We have a populace that is well informed by leadership about the real risks of this virus, who in turn have been depending on public health professionals for their advice. And everyone is contributing to this battle against coronavirus, as painful as it is and we are winning for now. But the battle is far from over.

I am a Physical Therapist Assistant who strongly believes in the body's ability to heal itself and I don't mix politics into this matter at all. Most of my patients in the last couple years have been in the 70s - 90s and I have deep concern for them and many others. I don't wish any harm to them or Aaron but only wish him to look at the situation clear eyed but it is him and you and some others that are pulling politics into this and putting that obsession above critically important thinking.

This virus is very new and look at the damage it has done! I just listened to Laura Ingraham push this narrative that their could be a large number of asymptmatic people out there along with the conspiracy theory that this shut down is a leftist ploy. Talk about hysteria!! It is not even common sense that there could be all these people already exposed and immune out there as the disease hasn't been here long enough for that to even happen on a large scale. That is wishful thinking based on hysteria over the sinking economy and it is not rational. It is worse than not rational it is DANGEROUS! We do not know yet what this disease will do. Italy currently has a 12% death rate and we are just a few weeks behind them. It is EXTREMELY DANGEROUS to let our GUARD DOWN at this time, to let this thing run its course unchecked could kill MILLIONS of people!! If we are to error it has to be on the side of caution, NOT on the side of POLITICS!

I am extremely against the Leftist Globalist Socialist agenda but this doesn't play in the least into my thoughts of how to handle this situation at this time. I'm standing up against the foolishness of suggesting that we can put guard down and basing that on politics. I believe it will cost many MANY lives if people are not diligent to hold strong in order to slow this disease down so that we can develop treatments in order to help people get through their infections without dying. Therefore it is not only foolish to take a chance based on getting wrapped up in political paranoia and risk millions of lives BUT YOU WANT TO TALK ABOUT "DOING NO HARM" - I got news for you and Aaron! - To jump on a political bandwagon and encourage others to let their guard down based on these theories about Leftist takeovers of our freedoms is a paranoia that is leading to the chance of killing of killing millions of our citizens!

Should we come through this with the Leftist trying to impose their ideology on us I will be fight it all the way and when it is settled and such an agenda were to be taking root I would be on the front line to fight it.
