Its summertime. (No joke :laugh: ) Many may be traveling on vacation dispite gas prices.... Others are still involved in commutes to work and market. The message of this post is to be safe, drive safe....... and, after reading the article..... one may get an idea on being a safe passenger, if 'pooling' with others.

Spiritual Application to Life

We have reminders to keep our 'eyes on Jesus' who is the author and finisher of our faith. This metaphor of keeping our eyes on the road has many implications and applications: If one keeps their spiritual focus on Jesus, we are free (by his grace) from bondage to the illusions and appealing lusts of this world which would distract us from his love and our love and obediance to him. This is not only a spiritual discipline but also a life skill..... for the fullest life.

One does a better job in their work if they stay focused upon the task at hand: One's more likely to win the prize if the discipline of every thing involved with their preparation and training is focused on the goals of preparation and besting the techniques of their competitors: One is more likely to make a better choice if they focus on the principals and values concerning their options rather than the easiest route, or false appeal: One is more likely to choose a statesman rather than a politician if one focuses on what has already been done and the consistency in the life of that person, as a citizen or leader, in their choices, directions, and decisions, rather than just the promises made in a campaign:

One is more likely to stay solvent if one focuses on their obligations and the economy and conserves a margin to meet the unexpected: One is more likely to be objectively informed if they can separate fact from opinion, and can keep in mind the bias of 'subjects and officials' in news articles to present their points in the most positive light... sometimes to present what they believe to be true as fact before the facts are known. And so on and so on..... the analogy may work.

Spiritual discipline goes hand in hand with living: in our choices we make to live it: Count the cost before making the decision (whre do you want to go). Press towards the goal without looking back: (Keep your eyes on the road.) Be on the lookout for hazards and obstacles and prepare ahead of time for evasive, correcting maneuvers. Keep your destination in mind and avoid distractions which might prevent you from arriving successfully.
