Don't miss the harbor tour among the ore freighters and grain ships. Odd to be 2000 miles from an ocean and see those huge ships.

Duluth is a little provincial and really a blue-collar type place. Not much special to do - but the sight seeing along the ridge is fabulous.

Go up the North Shore aabout 30 miles.
    Gooseberry Falls
    Split Rock Light House
    Pallisades

    Or south only 5 miles.
Jay Cook State Park is FABULOUS with a roaring river gorge, hiking trails, etc
All worth the short drive from Duluth

Love that area. And fall colors should be a riot.

I always said, if I had unlimited funds, I'd own two homes, one in Duluth and one in Corpus Christi, so all year 'round I could enjoy those hug ships. Duluth is a beautiful city.

I love Duluth but would have preferred to live in Superior, Wisconsin. [IMG] I love the cool climate, year round, and as a pivot point for places to visit, the wonders of God's creation are so close.

Me and my wife had our honeymoon and second anniversary there.
When I was young my mom and sister camped up along the north shore, especially at Gooseberry falls.
