    What songs (new and old) do ya'll like for a blended easter morning service.

    I was thinking "Mighty is The Power of The Cross" and "Go to Dark Gethsemane" (It's quirky but the words are awesome.)

    Any suggestions?

    New: "Easter Song (vocally pretty nasty but a great song...does mid '70's
    count as new?)

    "How Deep the Father's Love for Us"

    Would you believe folks at my church dont know Christ the Lord is Risen Today???

    Old: Low in the Grave He Lay and Christ the Lord is Risen Today

    New: He is Risen (91 hymnal) and The Wonderful Cross

    I was thinking about doing that Julie Miller song, "How Could You Say No". I nearly cry when I listen to her sing it.

    Who covered it (other than my wife every Easter)? I've only heard the original... oh, and Acappella's version, and that was live. Very cool.

    "Arise My Love" by Newsong...and if you ever get a chance to see them sing it live, it is tremendous.

    Most contemporary music has very shallow lyrics.

    "Majesty" (M.Redman)
    "Here's to the Day" (B. Crockett)
    "My Heart Is Not My Own" (J. Rouse/R. Vader)

    That's just Easter-themed more modern stuff we've done in the last few weeks. And that' s just stuff off the top of my head. Wonderful depth here.

    No period of music has a monopoly on shallow lyrics.
