My addition - did anyone eat in more that one mess hall of a different service? Was there a difference.
How would you rate the quality of the mess hall food in your unit(s) in Germany? Overall, I found the cooks in my unit, C/2/62 ADA, to be competent and dedicated. The majority of the cooks were draftees. My preferred meals were breakfast and lunch, as they were well-prepared. Dinner, however, varied from day to day, with some days offering better quality than others. But I had a genuine respect for the effort and work that the cooks put into preparing meals for the unit. Their dedication and hard work were evident.
