I just finished reading an interesting article that I came across on the web. I am not advocating it, just interested in what others think about it.

Here is the link: The Great Ecclesiastical Conspiracy

It seems to bring across some things that I cannot refute.

mesly. Thank you very much for the link you gave. I looked at the article, and the writers brought up many thoughtworthy things. They proved some translational errors in the KJV. I could agree with much of what they said. The KJV translators were not so good and honest men as some would have us think.

What is interesting is that most MV's have the same problems. The only translation I have seen so far that does not fall into this is J.N. Darby's (i.e. the Darby bible).

Actually, the JWs are so anti-cleric that they go overboard the other way.

I only had time to skim the link; I am probably in closer agreement with their "horizontal" leadership model than the "vertical" model. But I find it interesting that the authors make a big play of how much King James despised the Geneva Bible, yet in most of the verses that they give to show that the KJV is translated to entrench kings and bishops, the translation is exactly the same or very near to the translation of the Geneva. That alone puts me in great doubt of their "conspiracy theory."

I agree with you. I'll email the authors and see what they say about this. I'll post their response (if I get one) here.

    Thanks,
    Michael
