Sadly, this speaks volumes for our nation. But I never bought into this whole "Christian nation" nonsense. Regardless of one's opinion of Trump, the notion that Clinton (or anyone running on the current Democrat platform, for that matter) could even be considered as a viable candidate denounces the idea of the US being a "Christian nation."
The Notion that Clinton and Trump are considered viable candidates denounces the idea of the US being a Christian nation. Judgement is coming the only question is will it's name be Clinton or Trump.Sadly, this speaks volumes for our nation. But I never bought into this whole "Christian nation" nonsense. I think that you may very well be right. I don't like or trust Trump, but I don't know enough about his platform to say that it would be anti-Christian to vote for him. I believe the Democratic Party's platform to be anti-Christian (and to have been so for decades). The Notion that Clinton and Trump are considered viable candidates denounces the idea of the US being a Christian nation. Considering that the Trump Party booed the Constitution, freedom, and conscience, and than had people removed from a rally for holding pocket sized Constitutions their platform is of little value. They have made it clear that the Trump Party is all about lifting up Trump no matter the cost. I will have none of it.I think that you may very well be right. To be honest, I don't think that those attending the speech were booing the Constitution but rather the protesters holding up those pocket sized copies in reference to Khzir Khan's speech. Those protesters disrespected the Constitution by making it a prop for their political agenda, so they don't really have my empathy.Considering that the Trump Party booed the Constitution, freedom, and conscience, and than had people removed from a rally for holding pocket sized Constitutions their platform is of little value. The Trump Party handed the Dems a weapon when they booed Cruz talking about the Constitution. Dems use weapons like that so that is par for the course, but the Trump Party keeps letting them by showing its own disdain for the Constitution. I knew nothing about Khan's speech when I saw people being removed for the rally with Constitution in and my first thought was why am I not surprised that Trump would remove people for having the Constitution on them, after all he is an authoritarian through and through. To be honest, I don't think that those attending the speech were booing the Constitution but rather the protesters holding up those pocket sized copies in reference to Khzir Khan's speech. When I read (on his own website) Trump's plan about making the VA compete with civilian doctors for it's funding (while somehow increasing VA benefits for retired and disabled service members) and strong-arming China by sending our Navy into their seas in order to pressure them to agree to his plan...well...I started to doubt his abilities.
His plan is to “[bolster] the US Military presence in the East and South China Seas to discourage Chinese adventurism” and to Strengthen our negotiating position “as we begin renegotiating our trading relationship with China. A strong military presence will be a clear signal to China and other nations in Asia and around the world that America is back in the global leadership business.”If by their seas, you mean their disputed claims to the South China. Then, his letting our Navy and Air Force make freedom of navigation passages through the areas is a good idea. As for the VA, that's where he gets off track. But, I can't see Congress letting his plans go through. The various veterans' orgs have too much clout.
What I object to most is the game of politics. You seem to be an intelligent woman. I am surprised that you thought those Republican supporters of Trump were booing the Constitution instead of the protesters, and I'm surprised you thought that they booed Cruz for mentioning the Constitution and conscience instead of his pulling those words to show he does not back Trump. I thought the propaganda shallow enough that you wouldn't have been swept in, but politics sometimes generates enough emotion that in the heat of things we fall into the game. The Trump Party handed the Dems a weapon when they booed Cruz talking about the Constitution. And I agree that his plans as far as the VA probably will never happen. My biggest issue here is that his statements reflect that he does not understand the system.
Here is the thing, If there is one thing that Trump is good at it is branding. The Trump Party had Cruz's speech ahead of time and they choose the boo line. Yes I know they were booing him not kissing the ring, but they still picked the line that talked about conscience and Freedom and the Constitution. Then to have people removed from a rally for having the Constitution again doubles down on the anti Constitution branding. He handed that weapon to the Dems and now he himself is falling on that weapon. He knows how branding works so I'm not at all sympathetic to the Trump Party being branded as an anti Constitution party since he did it to himself. What I object to most is the game of politics. Personally, I liked Cruz’s speech. Even his conclusion without endorsing Trump was, I believe, spoken true. But Curz was booed for not endorsing Trump, plain and simple. He was not booed for mentioning the Constitution or telling people to vote their conscience.
And the “Trump Party” booed those protesting, not our Constitution. I don’t think anyone (even you as you typed the claim) truly believes that between the little Constitution’s and the Democrat protesters, that those Republicans behind Trump chose to boo the Constitution and the Democrat protesters were just escorted out because they happened to be attached to a hand holding the “cursed” document. While I agree with you politically, I think that these games (on both sides) has cheapened our election process. People want to manipulate voters instead of looking at true positions.
No sympathy from me either. If my faith was politically based I think the upcomming years would be ones of disappointment. Here is the thing, If there is one thing that Trump is good at it is branding. But he's been terrible when it comes to off-year elections and back in 2004 when he predicted a Kerry win.
