As the mayan calendar ends dec 21 of this year all kinds of speculations on what will happen--they say PlanetX is approaching us from behind the Sun
or other cultures called it the Destroyer, and the galactic allignment--possible poll shifts--millions of people dieing-major earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, bad weather leading up to the last of this year---Whats your take on this!!!

My take on it is that it is an ancient myth that has no validity. What are you going to do when you wake up December 22nd? I take Scripture literally when it says the return of the Lord will be when we least expect it. I would guess on any day of the calendar but that one.

The Mayan's were excellent astronomers. They correctly noticed the solar cycle, and accurately dated it to conclude this 12/21. While the world will not end then (or ever) it is interesting that Jesus referred to the "age to come" which this could very well fit. It also doesn't mean anything will happen on that day but ushers in the new age.

I think there's about as much chance as the Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man stomping through New York City.

Follow scripture; there's a lot yet that still has to happen before we see the Son coming.

They didn't take into account leap years...so technically we should all be dead already.

Thanks for playing!

There are several Mayan calendars all ending at different times. Most of them ending in times past.
PlanetX is approaching us from behind the Sun
Bode's law mitigates against it.
the galactic allignment
The solar system started its drift across the Galactic equator in 1980, passed the center point in 1998, and will finish crossing in 2016.
possible poll shifts
And the mechanism?
major earthquakes
Frequency and magnitude down since 1945
volcanic eruptions
Trending down since 1985
bad weather leading up to the last of this year
Weather today is much better than the first half of the 19th century.

Meh!

Can you cite your climate and mayan sources for the above statements?
