Ethically Correct?

You are asking a question about textual criticism and scribal errors whether intentional (as 1 jn 5:7 seems to be) and unintentional. Most translations will note that the addition to the verse was most likely not original and one can try to get into the scribe's head who added it as to why, and you might be correct.

I doubt you'll find anyone supporting the pracitice of intentional insertions, my guess is some will argue that it is original and it will degenerate to a KJVO vs. the world sort of thread.

If you are interested in textual criticism Metzger and the Alands have written some great books on the subject. For a more introductory work there is Kregel's little "One Bible Only?" produced by the CBTS faculty that goes into both OT and NT textual criticism. Have a happy 4th.

Bruce Metzger and Kurt Aland are "believers" that don't believe the Holy Bible.

For example, Metzger denies there was ever a worldwide Flood that covered the whole earth...the book of Job was an ancient folktale...the book of Jonah was popular legend...Moses did not write the Pentateuch...Peter did not write 2 Peter. Bruce Metzger is an unbeliever and a false teacher.

I learned that Bruce Metzger is also apostate, liberal, and heretic according to a book, "Modern Versions Founded upon Apostasy" by David W. Cloud.

I told them in my last posts many times and warned them SAME passages as above.

 

Sorry, Askjo, David Cloud is not recognized as a reliable authority by most of us...he's been WRONG too many times.

However, if one carefully checks out his points against the work of Riplinger, one will find out he's about 95% right in his article denouncing NABV.
