Nah, character still counts, though I'll appreciate any good that is accomplished.
If Moore likes him.... Kavanaugh probably will not sway NeverTrumpers because they can vote Democrat and be happy. Trump could have chosen worse. The confirmation vote will be very small in the Senate because Democrats do not extend normal historical courtesy to anyone, perhaps because they have safe seats. Watch Indiana because the GOP put up a very weak candidate. If Joe Donnelly votes no, it means that he will win in November. Trump's popularity polls low sometimes, perhaps because of the daily hysteria from the Democrats, so it will be interesting to see if Trump can pull weak Republicans through in November. Jefferies says that Trump has about 75 percent of the evangelicals so I don't see how that would be much higher since people such as Moore never made a cogent case in the first place. I am praying that the SBC gets rid of the ERLC and spends the money on disaster relief or missionaries.

His business dealings, which continued until his company's assets were seized in 1942 under the Trading with the Enemy Act, has led more than 60 years later to a civil action for damages being brought in Germany against the Bush family by two former slave labourers at Auschwitz and to a hum of pre-election controversy.

I hold them in perhaps a bit less regard, as they have done much damage to our nation by their policies.
As I said, character counts.
I'm not sure there has been a godly man as POTUS in my generation. Even Mr. Reagan had his issues, though I'm thankful for what good has been done.
Godly people should seek godly character in their leaders. We should seek that above winning. We are not called to win battles, but to be godly.
Do you spend as much time and effort in prayer and bible studies as you do trying to find fake news on republicans?
Trumps morals are definitely much higher than those of the Bush family. Difference is they work much harder to hide their transgressions.

This sounds like you think the Bushes were/are honest sinners, which is not at all what Reynolds said about them.
Honest by politicians standards.
It is Russell Moore who proves that the SBC made a horrible mistake in setting up what turned into a partisan political office called the ERLC, which the SBC shows no signs of abolishing.

Breaking this down, it would mean those who are godly should not vote when there is no truly godly candidate. That would then leave the ungodly to vote in their favorite ungodly candidate, which could easily mean the most ungodly of all by far.
Perhaps that seemed right ten years ago, but Obama’s tenure may have changed a few minds. Trump stands for enough right and Clinton for enough wrong that it was time to vote for the lesser of two evils.
Trump also seems more open to the influence of some godly advisors, at least in some key areas.
Prescott was a close friend of Ike's. Do you think that Prescott had a nazi haircut? I hate it when that happens.

Actually that is not so, seeing the Constitution Party fielded a good candidate. All it would take is for people to vote according to conscience and recognizing that the two party idea is actually a false dichotomy: there are other choices, which most fail to recognize.

The SBC did make a terrible mistake in setting up the ERLC, formerly known as the Christian Life Commission.
The agency was founded in 1988 when the Southern Baptist Convention began reducing its involvement in the Baptist Joint Committee for Religious Liberty due to conflicts over separation of church and state and whether Baptist organizations should play a role in partisan politics. It was led at its inception in 1988 by Richard Land. Land announced his intention to retire effective October 23, 2013, after the uproar that ensued from his controversial comments about the Trayvon Martin case that resulted in an official reprimand by the ERLC's executive committee.[3][4] Russell D. Moore filled the post afterwards.[5]
It has served as the convention's major link to the Republican Party all these years until Trump came along. With the election of 45-year-old pastor J.D. Greear from North Carolina to be president of the denomination, the fundamentalist takeover of the SBC has been reversed at least at the top.Greear called for “a new culture and a new posture in the Southern Baptist Convention.”
Not just the ERLC but the entire convention is hopefully undergoing a much-needed change away from integration with the Republican Party.
