I think that the Johns Hopkins map has been taken down. It showed the most cases in the USA in the big cities.

The Novel Coronavirus Originated In Bats, And That's Actually Pretty Common
Came from Chinese bats. Some Chinese eat these things. In the NC, no animals are forbidden to eat, but also this is just common sense for us anyway. I hope the Chinese refuse to reopen food markets that sell wild unusual farmed animals for food.
China passed laws to prohibit the selling and eating of rare and unusual animals after the last two pandemics they caused with these dietary habits. Doubt it will do any good this time.

I saw this yesterday and was not impressed with the author's opening statement that you didn't need to be an expert to understand what the reams and reams of data means. He then stated he was an expert on what makes things go viral because his job is to make things go viral on social media. No thank you.

This corona virus is not a new thing and given that lysol has been disinfecting from it for years not sure why they have not been used to help in this.

Here is the John Hopkins data map.

Operations Dashboard for ArcGIS

Thank you very much! It was on the other address. Indiana according to the map has 204 cases and 4 deaths. That's up from 126 cases and 3 deaths yesterday. Bars and restaurants are closed for several days except for carry-outs at restaurants. Some people say that another month or more of this shutdown will put us in a depression for many years.

My understanding is that this covid-19 is a new strain of corona just discovered in 2019 and never seen before in humans.

And that other coronas are more common, typical to humans - such as common cold, and have been around a long time.

I could be wrong.

Go figure, the sheer amount of research looked like the buffet at Golden Corral to me. Figured everyone might find one thing of interest to them. I even found out I live in the same latitude as some of the worst affected places, joy.

You're not wrong. This is a new strain which humans do not have any immunity.

Operations Dashboard for ArcGIS

This site does not show any recovered from Covid-19 in the US.
China reports 81,496 cases with 3,274 Deaths and 72,819 Recovered
Italy reports 59,138 cases with 5,467 Deaths and 7,024 Recovered
Us reports 35,530 cases with 473 Deaths and No Data on Recovered. All Cases are still considered active or the patient died.

You can click on each country for these counts. Any Idea what the guidelines are for calling someone recovered?
The first reported US case was January 20, 2020. No cases are listed as recovered!
A comprehensive timeline of the new coronavirus pandemic, from China's first COVID-19 case to the present

They are showing 100,000 recoveries on the far right. Russia, North Korea, Cuba, and China, Venezuela, and Nicaragua are probably lying. Germany is not counting deaths as flu deaths if the patient already had a fatal illness and caught the flu also. That seems medically more intelligent to me but what do I know?

Yes, the John Hopkins site is unreliably poor. Lots of time data is missing. Sometimes the data is there.
