A school administrative director in Maine has come under attack and ridicule recently for his recent urging that evolution be dropped from the curriculum in schools.

    Story Here

If schools were private, as they should be, there wouldn't be stories like this.

Private schools would be nice, but then we'd go back to when the poor couldn't get an education.

    I especially liked this comment

wishing no conversation would go down that road (regardless of the side you are on).

The comments after are an interesting read.

AND I agree with Ken on this, but that's probably not a surprise to anyone.

There are many schools that operate with partial to complete tuition assistance at large levels - especially Christian schools. Private doesn't have to equal prep.

There would be more if there were no public schools.

Matthew Linkletter, director of School Administrative District 59 in Somerset County, claims that no theory – neither evolution nor creationism – should be taught in schools if it cannot be proven.

Linkletter doesn't know the meaning of "theory", of "prove," and doesn't understand the difference between the problems of first cause and of abiogenesis.
