Some say that there will be a rapture then trib then 2nd coming EVEN though Matt 24 makes it very clear that "AFTER the Tribulation of those days... they will see the son of Man coming".
Their prediction of the future is wrong.
Some claim that in the middle of the tribulation - Christ comes and then "more tribulation". But Matt 24 does not support that either.
Their prediction of the future is simply wrong. The sequence they expect will never happen.
Some claim that "AFTER the tribulation of those days... they will see the Son of Man coming in the clouds of heaven" --
Their prediction fits Matt 24 -- the future sequence they expect will actually happen.
The point is that failure to accurately predict the future is not the sign of being Christian or non-Christian as can be seen in the case of the first 2 groups.
Now let's take the case of those who accept the Ten Commandments as all being valid -- D. L. Moody would be an example of people in that group.
Furthermore lets take the group within that larger group that accept God's Ten Commandments (yes even the 4th) who claim that the 4th commandment can not be "edited" but must remain unchanged for all of eternity "From Sabbath to Sabbath shall all mankind come before Me to Worship" Isaiah 66. (This group woud include the Seventh-day Baptists for example)
Now let's take an even smaller group inside that larger group -- one that predicts that in the future according to Rev 14:6-9 the specifics of the Sabbath debate becomes a huge issue dividing mankind.
If you do not think that future prediction is correct and if you are right -- then that future prediction simply never takes place. Their expectation of such a future world wide turmoil over the Sabbath never takes place.
So what?
On the other hand IF they are right in making that prediction from Rev 14 -- then we are warned about a future event -- forewarned is fore-armed. We are the better for it.
What say you?
in Christ,
Bob
