    do you consider baptist a faith or a religion. what significance does the word baptist holds in a name of a church, why do we use the word baptist in our church names. Just because you go to a baptist church does it means that your not practicing christianity.

    I comsider it faith. the Bible warns us about being relegious. the pharasies were relegious, but they didn't have THE SAVIOR. I think we should live our faith daily. not just Sunday morning, sunday night, or wensday night. it, for me, is a daily thing, because I need the Lord's help constantly.
    in my opinion, we can't live with out food. we also can't live without a spiritual feeding that we receive at church during services.
    i think the reason we are called "Baptist" is because we believe in baptisum after a person gets saved. it's a basic Bible truth. and most baptists tend to believe, especialy, several basic Bible doctorens,such as baptisum.
    ANYONE who is truely saved is a Christian. there are probably quite a few unsaved baptists, as well as people in other denominations who are saved
    a Christian is Christ-like. Anyone who has the Lord in them are Christians, no matter what the relegion. {we just may not always show it!}
    i think that maybe we as Baptists tend, to, at times, seem prideful about some things we beleive. but the Bible says "there is none rightous. no not one."
    we are no better than anyone else. without God's grace we would be nothing.
    I DO believe our doctorens are correct. our Bible is complete. as is the gospel. [death, buriel, and reserection of Jesus.}
    but as i said before, i believe that it is a faith. it must be lived daily.
    your sister and friend in our precious Savior,

    Baptist is a denominational name. Nothing more nothing less.

    "Baptist" is a religion, with a set of rules. That is neither good nor bad, it is just a neutral fact. What people do with it is what is important.

    My faith is in my personal relationship with Jesus, and how the two of us get along.

    My faith, religion, and doctrine are one in the same and cannot be separated... They exist together or not at all... Brother Glen [IMG]

    I agree,Bro Glen. My religion is my relationship with Christ,which is based on faith in Him. That is what religion is. Religion is the relationship....there are false religions out there,but christianity is the only right one. ;)
