It seems the message is that there is no God, and man needs to save himself. Here is an example of a prominent man of science prophesying.

    "
the physicist guesses, we have less than 600 years until humans turn Earth into a "ball of fire."

Hawking made his dire prediction via video conference at Beijing's Tencent WE Summit on Sunday, Metro reported. But Hawking said there's still hope for humanity — if we get out of here fast."

Stephen Hawking predicts humans will turn the world into a 'ball of fire' within 600 years

He apparently thinks we have 100 years to find another planet to live on..

Other groups of scientists preach population control and doom also.

For example 15,000 of them here..

The bible says Jesus will return and save the planet. The prophesies are absolutely opposed to each other. Only one can be true.

The consequences of tossing out God and creation from your knowledge are immense.

They have no God in the future and have removed Him from their past also, by inventing alternate creation stories.

So what planet do we come back to after we are risen with our spiritualized bodies?!? Oh I forgot, Hawking is an atheist.

Right, the false prophets of science have that excuse I guess.

Thou shall not put false gods before me. I learned that in Catholic school.

I think Hawking went sour on life in general. Long-term, disabling illness can do that to a person. Intelligence can also be turned against a person if it's combined with arrogance. There are two distinct ways to become like God: to seek truth and forgiveness from God, or to become God in one's own mind, by adopting a position in opposition to God, and then denying God's existence.

To truly become more like God necessitates we believe as God does. But god complexes are fueled by arrogance. By taking a position opposed to God, and then denying His existence, the arrogant become their own gods, which amounts to little more than justification of sin.

I ask Hawking, "Can you control the physical laws of nature?" Of course the answer is no. But I follow that with, "You cannot control nature as a function of your will, because you lack sufficient understanding of 'how' to control nature.

"But, it is possible to control nature as a function of the will. In fact, I am as smart as you are, but I spend my intellect devising the means to defeat death, sadness, war, illness, and all other problems. And I've done it! While your life's work projects only doom. The difference between us is that you have no access to truth, but I do.

"A collection of facts, no matter how large, does not equal truth. Your arrogance has blinded you into ignorance."

This all reminds me of the verse "unless those days were cut short, no flesh would be saved [alive]" The bible does indicate that mankind is on the road to self-destruction, but God will save him by intervention,
