    Can anyone recommend good family/personal devotional books aimed at young teens using the K.J.V?

    With the replies to my question so far, it is no wonder there is a problem with young people and teens in our churches. They are the generation most talked about and needed, but in this area, most neglected. I trust time will prove me wrong, and that there are some decent materials out there.

    To extend this question, Can anyone recommend good family/personal devotional books aimed at young teens using any bible version???? :eek:

    In my opinion, nothing surpasses Scripture Union Notes for anyone, including youth. I have been using Scripture Union in personal devotions since 1957.

    Thanks for the information I had a look online at some sample devotionals and they look good. I have also contacted Scripture Union and I am waiting for their reply.

    You are very welcome. You will not be disappointed with Scripture Union. When I was in active ministry, I used to give them out to every convert to get them rooted in the word.

    Scripture Union has been very active in Wales, working with youth.

    I always liked it because it is biblically rooted and the people involved are spiritual whether they be Anglican, Baptist, Presbyterian or whatever denomination; they are sound.

    Hi Jim,
    The only downside I have found is the bible version issue, I would prefer the K.J.V, but if they have just the scripture reference it would be better. This is what they have on the samples online.

    By the way I am from Belfast Northern Ireland (Ulster) as is the first replier to my query. I have been here as a missionary for the past four and a half years. :D

    Hi Roy, back in the 60's, I had a member of my church from Ulster. He had been a member of the Royal Ulster Constabulary before he came to Canada. A solid member. His name was James Armstrong. In fact, we had so many Irish members I thought I would have to change my accent.

    Jim,
    This is a little known fact, that the Ulster accent is the heavenly accent, so God was just giving you a head start on most of the saved in glory, well that is what I tell our congregation. I am not too sure yet if they have taken it on board, but I will keep trying. Sadly the R.U.C have now changed their name to P.S.N.I Police Service of Northern Ireland. I lot has changed and not all for the good.
