Mine is Pride of the Yankees (in spite of that ******* name), with Gary Cooper as Lou Gehrig.

My favorite could be a movie about Christy Mathewson, but if there is one (and authentic) I don't know of it.

    {Edited-questionable language}

    I voted "other"

After reading your list I am shocked you left out Sandlot. That was one of the best baseball movies I have ever seen, other than that one, I would go with The Natural or Field of Dreams.

I agree with Alcott. My favorite is not up there The Pride of the Yankees. However I also liked The Rookie so I chose the Dennis Quaid movie.

Well, lets go back even further for some decent baseball movies.

Pride of the Yankees was a great movie. Even Babe Ruth was in it, playing himself.

Does anybody remember The Babe Ruth Story, with William Bendix? Bad movie, but enjoyable to a kid.

How about The Stratton Story, starring Jimmy Stewart as Monte Stratton. Stratton accidentally shot himself while hunting, and lost a leg. But he wound up pitching in the majors for the White Sox.

Then there was Strike Him Out (I think that's the title), the story of Grover Cleveland Alexander, starring Ronald Reagan.

And the movie about Dizzy Dean (forget the name).

I saw 'em all when I was a kid.

Sorry about that. I only had 10 choices. Number 9 was a choice between 61* and Sandlot. I wanted to leave 10 for other.

I too don't recall the name of the Dizzy Dean movie but it started Dan Daily, that would be my number one baseball movie.

Don't forget Bang the Drum Slowly.

The Dizzy Dean movie staring Dan Daily is The Pride of St. Louis.

Leave it to a Cardinals fan to know that one. :)

Im going to have to go with Eight Men Out. Its about the 1919 Chicago Black Sox and them throwing the World Series. Charlie Sheen is in it. Pretty good.

The Rookie, a great family movie.

Hey, did you hear they are planning a sequel to "Field of Dreams"? In this one Kevin Costner is out in his corn field and hears the voice of Pete Rose saying "Build a casino and i will come".

Funny. Did you ever hear his rendition of Take me out to the ballgame?

Take me out to the ballgame,
I bet on my own team.
Buy me some peanuts & crackerjacks,
If we don't win then we'll head for the tracks.
So it's bet, bet, bet on the home team,
    If we don't win it's a shame.
I bet three to one I
Get into the Hall of Fame.

I really liked the Stratton Story.
    The Natural was also good.
As a kid I liked Rookie of the Year.

I remember seeing the Jackie Robinson story really young but don't remember it well.
