Who is your Favorite Christian Singer, or Singing Group?

Mine is the Sullivan Family
( A old Time Bluegrass Family)

Definatly the Rochester Family. That family, when they sing can bring tears to the hardest persons' eyes. They used to be members of our church, but God called them to sing full time for His glory. They can harmonize beautifuly a capella, and thier songs are truly Gospel.

Teresa Rummelt. She's still up and coming, but wait oh...5, 10 years, and you will see her name.
I'm lucky enough to get to hear her sing now before she has a full time career. Ahh...the early days :D

Otherwise I love Tim Hughes music. If you've never heard "Here I am to Worship" its awesome.

There are many Christian singers whose voices I love, but if I *had* to pin it down to just one, I would have to say Larnelle Harris.

Harris' voice is classically trained, but very soulful. He doesn't just sing a song, he interprets it...and from all accounts, his life backs up what he sings about.

I've also heard him in concert, and he's wonderful.

You can find out more about Larnelle Harris at:

Other Christian singers whose voices I love:

Mark Harris of 4Him
David Phelps and Guy Penrod of the Gaither Vocal Band
Matthew Ward (formerly of 2nd Chapter of Acts)
John Elefante
The Winans

Those are just a few...I could go on all day!

Love the story-song of Ray Boltz.

But remember, I grew up when John W Peterson was all the rage and those evil Gaithers were just trying to get bad doctine into fundamental churches!

My most-played cd is Brother to Brother with John Michael Talbot and Michael Card. Yeah, I know, a catholic and a neo together, but when it comes to music, I have no taste! :D

"I'd have to go with John Cooper from Skillet as my absolute favorite, he's just plain good. "

Indeed, great, great group they are.

I could listen to Larnelle Harris and Matthew Ward all day long. I've been to a few 4 Him concerts and everyone of those guys are great. Wayne Watson, Michael Card and Steve Camp are all first rate.

Truly a man of God even if in a different theolgical corner than me.Every time I hear him sing something like 'Rushing Wind' I feel a particular indescribable yearning in my spirit to draw close to God.
