A pastor wears so many hats and has so many moving parts. We're called on to do alot of different things. So what is your favorite part of your pastoral ministry? And why?

If you want to add your least favorite, that would be great also.

I have seen it twice now. There are scars from both. It is amazing how those who call themselves Christians can act, in some cases, worse than those who do not.

My favorite - goofing off with the kids and the youth, and hoping to help them in their walk.

My least favorite - as others have said, handling church conflict and also administration. Without help, I'm about as organized as a soup sandwich. I admit it.

I like administration and organizing church ministries. In fact it is my gift and strong suit. I love to see people being built up and taking control of ministries.

I concur. I love it when a plan comes together.

Least favorite thing - dealing with folks that live and breathe to ruffle everyone's feathers, are never wrong (even when they are) and would crush a child's spirit and feel no remorse.

An eight year old sang "You Are My All and All" for call to worship. At the end of the service and member said that children should not be permitted to sing like that during the worship time. His reasoning was it was for show, to make everyone go "Aww" and so the parents and grandparents can take pictures and post them all over Facebook. He's a cantankerous old coot.

BTW that eight year old lead us in worship that morning.

Those with such a myopic view can kill a church. There is much more to that than what he claims. Such events are as much about discipleship as it is anything else. And we should be encouraging our children in these things.

I just discovered something else I hate in the ministry. I have things to do at church, but my wife gets to spend 2 days with my grandsons. ...ain't right.
