FCC Complaint

Since the show is live on the Eastern and Central time zones, I don't see how they "allowed" it. There have been other incidents over the years (i.e. people flashing the camera, etc), but it is a tall order to expect a live television show to be able to catch everything.

Furthermore, who has been harmed by this? Certainly it is unpleasant, but it is just a coarse word.

 

Even though it's live, I'm almost positive it's on a 30 second time delay or something... they could've adjusted it if they wanted. Almost all "live" radio and TV is on delay now for that very reason. Someone just missed it.

 

Yes, ever since "nipple gate", they don't broadcast exactly live anymore. The fines are enormously expensive when they slip up.

Anyone else ever had their mouth washed out with soap? :wavey:

 

Nope, just the threat was enough for me! :laugh:

My kids now, thought they had to taste the soap so they could determine if the punishment was enough to deter the crime. It was! :laugh:

 

Over the years I got to be quite a connoisseur of soap. Though my personal preference was for Lux, I found that Palmolive had a nice, piquant after-dinner flavor - heavy, but with a touch of mellow smoothness. Life Buoy, on the other hand... YECCHH!

 

It's worse now with the pump bottles :laugh:

Yeah, but some things are hard to predict and people don't always react fast enough. It's part of being fallible.

 

Not me. I didn't use such language as a child nor have I used it as an adult.

Yes! My Grandmother performed the ceremony on me when I was about five years old. She saw me stick my tongue out at my mother when my mother's back was turned. After her treatment which involved the mixing of soap, washcloth, and mouth; I would have bitten my tongue off before I stuck it out again in her presence.

 

It is certainly without doubt that these folks who push this language barrier would like to have no obstacles to say what they want on the public air. This is certainly not just about one individual incident nor is it about one indiviual person.

What kind of a society do we want to have.

 

OH my goodness. Grow up. It didn't hurt anyone. Inappropriate? Yes. Enough to get your bowels in an uproar over it? Absolutely not.

 

:laugh: @ the response and the question! Sure have...it does definitely deter the use of bad language in front of the mouth wash-er in the future! :laugh: I don't like using soap, though, 'cause I'm afraid it will harm my kids...I use vinegar instead. :thumbs:

 

It didn't hurt anyone, huh? How about the innocent little kids that might have been sitting in front of that program, waiting for time to go to school? Thank God, I watch CBS, so my kids weren't exposed to this. There are millions of families like mine, though, who have a morning news program on while the kids are getting ready for school. Once they're ready, they sit down in the living room; even if they're not paying attention to the TV, they will still hear something like this. So, if you're not interested in making a complaint, take your poor attitude to another thread. Some of us are interested in protecting our children...and yes, I did follow the link when I got this email and file my complaint. :thumbs:

 

Wow, I think this incident highlights how far the church has gone. We expect to live in some kind of sanitised, world that won't ever defile us? Where do we get that expectation. Why do we think that the world is going to conform to our standards? How long do you think American Christians can continue to live in some kind of "holy bubble"?

It was wrong, it should have been bleeped, whoever messed up needs to be dealt with, but this is hardly earth shattering news.
