FEAR OF GOD
2Corinthians 7.1.11
"Cleanse ourselves from all defilement of flesh," means from all ungodly temptations, greed, injustice, deceit, lies, and other "dirt" of this world that make a person unclean in the eyes of GOD.
"Perfecting holiness in the Fear of GOD." The consecration (cleansing) of the spirit and flesh of a human being from the defilement of this world certainly will raise Perfection of Holiness of a person. This statement indicates that more Fear of GOD a person has, the higher the level of his or her holiness will be, because those who Fear GOD do not sin intentionally.
Fear of GOD often forgotten by Christians and largely neglected. Some Christian denominations tech that we should not fear GOD at all, because GOD is Love and not Fear. Such deceitful and false statement twisted, bend, and misinterpreted the meaning of the statement of John.
1John 4.18
18.*There is no fear in love but perfect love casts out fear, fear has to do with punishment and whoever fears has not reached perfection in love.
The statement of John meant that if you have true Love and Love the Lord from the heart and Love all His Commandments and Statutes and follow them, then you have no Fear of GOD, because is nothing you done to punish you for. Love do not sin. True Love makes a person Spiritually perfect and turns him/her away from committing intentional sin, so, there is no sin, there is no punishment for sin and no Fear of GOD'S wrath.
Subsequently, those who have such true and perfect Love for the Lord and His Commandments they have right to say that they have no Fear of GOD, because they worship and serve Him with true and perfect Love, and if they do not break any of the Lord's Statutes and Commandments, they have nothing to Fear.
Concerning myself, I am not perfect in my Love for GOD and because of it I Fear the Lord. The standard of the perfect Love is too high for me, but I am constantly improving in it.
The Fear of GOD keeps us under check and under control, but those who forgot the Fear of GOD most likely will fail their GOD and will not inherit His Eternal Promises.
