Just in on FOX News .... another officer involved shooting of a black man just miles from Ferguson.

Let me ask ... is this becoming the perfect storm? A nightmare of unfortunate circumstances, or is there really a conspiracy to trigger some kind of civil unrest.

News states the suspect pointed a 9mm hand gun at the cop, shooting the suspect three times, killing him on the spot. The suspects partner in crime ran off. Of course we will have the shooting on film, which will be released after family is consulted. As well as all legal parties, I'm sure.

The suspect has a record, but this didn't stop a crowd of at least 100 angry citizens from throwing bricks and rocks at cops on the scene.

Right now the cops are under a microscope, and every incident only ramps up the anger.

    Your fair opinions are appreciated.

I've read the news report and have watched the resulting video----its time we disarm white police officers----don't let um have a weapon of any sort!!! Put white officers behind department desks and let them spend all day counting paper clips and watching youtube cartoons on their office computers!!:flower::flower:

Hire and allow black officers only to patrol---and arm them with nothing but their own pocket knives----then let a call come in over the radio of a theft in progress-----and see which black officer would dare answer the call with nothing but their Old Timer in their front pockets

    PURE STUPIDITY!!

I saw this earlier. From what I understand, the crowd that gathered around started throwing bricks and at least one firework at the cops and then looted a store across the street. Regardless of whether the shooting is justified, mob violence and rioting is not. These people act like animals.

Regardless of what color you may be-----if I were a BLACK police officer and you pull a gun and point it at me-----there won't be a "Count to 5--and then draw my service weapon" moment for me----I won't count to 5----when I see the firearm drawn and pointed at me-----I'm gonna draw mine faster than Marshall Matt Dillon ever thought about-----and I will begin the countdown for that suspects life before mine!!!:saint::type:

I was hopeful this would all die down, but this is not going to help ease tensions. In fact this may lead to more killings of cops. It got out of hand, and only Obama can stop it head on. But will he?

The same Obama that is incompetent, a fool, and unable to accomplish anything? That same Obama is now our savior and only hope?

No, silly rabbit ... nothing like that at all. But an apology (something foreign to you) for rushing to judgment on Brown in the first place could start healing. After all, he started this racial divide, and really only he can start an end to it, providing he wants it to end.

No, you old goat, Obama was not the first to start a racial divide in this country.

And they wonder why we think the things about black people that we do.

Why should I repent of that? What's sinful about noticing a pattern of behavior inherent in a group of people?

Why? What's "shameful" about noticing a pattern of behavior inherent in a group of people? Are you claiming that these people portray black people in a positive light?

If you honestly believe that Obama started the racial divide in this country, you are far denser than I ever thought you were and there's no hope that anything I could say would register with you.

It was actually in another city called Berkley but still in St. Louis County. Christmas is a time of high crime in this country and St. Louis seems to have a crime wave. Here in Indy, people say that there are no jobs in St. Louis. The Mid-West has nothing but low-paying jobs anyway.

Don't say "we," I'm not with you in that. If you assign some trait to an entire ethnic group, that's your problem and something you ought to repent of.

BTW, I saw what you originally posted. Shameful.

Were white people thinking the same thing after Joe Paterno got fired?
    [IMG][IMG]

How about after Denver won the Super Bowl?
How about after San Francisco won the World Series in 2012 and 2014?

How about the Vancouver Canucks lose the Stanley Cup?

If you have any doubt that white people are particularly committed to rioting for any sports related reasons, consider the case of the University of Kentucky in 2012. Riots broke out after the school defeated in-state rivals Louisville in the Final Four, with more than 30 arrests made and a staggering 50-some fires reported. Astonishingly, just two nights later, after the team defeated the University of Kansas to become NCAA champs, fans again rioted, setting just as many fires, but this time adding gun violence to boot, leaving one man non-fatally shot (and not by the police).

So apparently black people riot when you kill black people. White people riot when their sports teams win or lose.

So do you think the same thing about white people that you think about black people?

Do you notice the same pattern in white people?

Ditto. Just replace black with white.

Next time you're in New Jersey, go to Camden and take a good look around. Then, if you manage to make it out alive, drive about fifteen minutes up the road to Haddonfield.

Then tell me if you can figure out what the difference is.

    No.

Drive through Birmingham's Tarrant section and then Center Point----then drive down Hwy 280 to Birmingham's Vestavia Hills & Brookwood------see if you note any differences!!!

The difference is you didn't answer the questions.

Must be due to that blind spot of white privilege. It seems to prevent white people from acknowledging the same traits in themselves that they like to point out in Blacks.

Economics and money play a huge part in the systemic racism and racial prejudice.

Born and raised in Hueytown. I know it well.

I used to go to Vestavia Hills to see concerts at Samford.
