Who can I trust?.....I can trust my looks, I’m beautiful.
Who am I? ..............I told you, I’m a beautiful girl.
Who wants me? ..........Why everyone want me, I’m beautiful.
Why am I alive? ........Duh, to be beautiful.
What do I do well? .....Like I said, I’m beautiful.

AND THEN the first big pimple grew on her forehead.

It’s not uncommon to hear a parent desperately ask what can be done to help a child that seems that seems to have lost their way.
“Her grades used to be good but now she’s failing in everything.”
“She doesn’t do things anymore, she just sits around watching T.V. and mopes around.”
“She looks depressed and won’t talk to me about it.”

In her first book, Finding Authentic Hope & Wholeness, Dr. Kathy Koch asks five questions that direct each of us back to the solid foundation found only in our loving God. The right answers to these questions will assist us in developing a wholesome and productive lifestyle.

Who can I trust? We commonly change the question to ‘What can I trust?’ Where do I find my security?
Who am I? Where do I find my identity?
Who wants me? Where do I belong? Who’s team am I on ?
Why am I alive? What’s my purpose?
What do I do well? What am I supposed to do? What do I do well?

“Trying to meet our needs in anyone or anything other than Jesus Christ can result in a temporary or shallow sense of wholeness.”

Helping ourselves and helping our lost children requires a sensitive heart and hard work. Kathy Koch helps us to find the true answers to these questions, the answers that bring us Authentic Hope and Wholeness.
