Once in college I had an upcoming exam that I felt sure I would fail. So, in typical teen stupid mode, I was bs-ing with friends the night before instead of studying.
One of the crew had a prescription for ????, and he told me, "Bill, take two of these before breakfast in the morning, and you will be OK for the exam."
Now keep in mind that this was long, LONG, before drugs were anywhere near this part of the country; that was only for places like LA, SF, etc
So I took the pills, ate breakfast, & went to the exam. By the time I walked into the classroom I was walking ten feet off the ground. At this point, if the Prof had told me it was senseless for me to take the exam, I would have smiled, told him I enjoyed the class, and floated back to the dorm.
I had calculated that I needed to make something like 90+/- two make the minimum to PASS the class, but I actually pulled a letter grade higher!!!
It worked, BUT, I decided later, after the effects wore off, that I was never going to do that again, and for well over a half century I haven't.
Point being - with out Christ in your life to help you absorb the ruts & bumps, I can well understand why some folk would turn to drugs. For a brief time life is blissful, and if that is the only time it is, why not give it your all???
Certainly not condoning it, but do understand if life sucks routinely.
Christ is the answer to all the STUPID we see daily, but the majority have nothing but disdain for Him; satan has done a masterful job, but that is rapidly coming to an end!!
