9-11 should be like the Alamo.

Remember 9-11 should be our battle cry.

Nobody cares about 09/11 anymore, ballfan.

People are under the delusion that it won't happen again. Don't you know that the reason we are in Iraq is so we won't have more terrorist attacks at home? We are fighting them over there so we don't have to fight them here. Better to fight them in Baghdad than in Philadelphia is what some people tell us.

And only Mexicans who do jobs that Americans won't do are coming through our porous borders. If there was any real terrorist threat, our borders would be closed. The President wouldn't be granting amnesty for all those illegal aliens who lost homes in the recent disaster.

Besides that, if something does happen, the government says to have plenty of duct tape and plastic on hand. They will rush to help us with medical assistance, food, water, and temporary shelter before we have a chance to die.

Not only that, it is depressing thinking about 09/11. We have more important things to think about now, like the hurricane disaster, opening up foreign markets for trade, Supreme Court appointments, rising gasoline and heating prices, and the stock market.

Lastly, there are only a handful of terrorists out there and there aren't any in our country and neighborhoods now because the INS has enforced our immigration laws and everyone who hates America has already been found and deported. We have a watch list. And our airport and port security is the best on the planet. Our nuclear power plants are secure and so is our air space.

All that "chatter" about another hit on the anniversary of 09/11 is just rumor or the government would be making everyone aware and raising the threat level. After all, we have that color code in place and our intelligence is never faulty.

On top of that, there are no suitcase nukes in this country - they have all been found and accounted for and it is impossible to smuggle them in now because we have dogs who sniff for such things. There isn't enough radioactivity in them to hurt very many people anyway. So why the alarm?

Everyone loves America. Those US flags being burned by angry mobs you see on the news were just staged by the liberal press because the liberal press hates Bush. Michael Moore and Hillary are probably behind it. John Kerry is, for sure.

    Good grief!

Beg to differ. Lots of people care. I'd say the vast majority. 9-11 is not a day to be used to promote political differences. Its a day to be united against all that oppose our way of life and that would do harm to it. Its not a liberal or conservative day. Its an American day for all Americans. Remember 9-11.

But, it's okay to use it to promote political agendas like election campaigns? Among other things (PNAC) I don't think so.

I guess the people who don't want to remenber it won't under any circumstances except as a tool for division. Kind of sad when you think about it that way.

poncho - the terrorists are. Stop being obtuse.

Ballfan, there are millions of us out here that didnt turn 9-11 into a political cause. I will work as hard as I have to, to never have to sit this far away and watch New Yorkers on television spectate their neighbors jumping from 100 story buildings again. Plain and simple. And there are more where I come from.

    "poncho - the terrorists are."

If they are the ones dividing us (as you state so unequivocally) then you should have no problem explaining in clear simple terms how they are going about it.

    Lets hear your hypothesis.

We are. I'm sure they've managed to prevent some stuff but its only a matter of time. Despite our best efforts some terrorist is going to slip through the cracks.

9-11 is now a day of remembrance to us lest we forget there are people in the world that oppose our way of life.
