Seems there is a bit of misunderstanding or misreporting in what's going on. Read the link again - there's more added a few minutes ago.

Both the Sky News and BBC News websites are saying the same thing; he made some deal to relocate the Ground Zero Mosque, which the people at the Mosque are denying. Bizarre. I think he just caved in to the pressure from, not just his own Government, but world leaders everywhere as well as the majority of his fellow Christians who believed his actions would put lives in danger.

Canceling the burning is the right thing to do of course. I had doubts if they would go through with it anyway.

I only wish the same people that protested this would voice the same opinion at the next flag burning.

Man, is that fella ever creepy!!

Here's some info about his "minister training academy" that would be funny if not so tragic and scary:

The DWOC’s “Academy Rulebook,”was created in November 2007 by Sylvia Jones. The document, which details the standards to which a prospective DWOC minister must adhere, addresses topics such as behavior, study, and communication. It is also filled with the kind of creepy directions that are often associated with cults.
For instance, students are directed to cut off most contact with family members. “Family occasions like wedding, funerals or Birthdays are no exception to this rule,” the rulebook notes. “No phone calls. Exceptions can be made under certain circumstances but only after receiving permission.”
The Joneses also barred “Singles” from having “romantic relationships to the opposite sex…Except work things, there is no need to talk at all, or even flirt!” Students were barred from “eating out in restaurants” and warned that they would be weighed “once a week to follow the tendency,” an apparent reference to a weight goal established by the Joneses.
The rulebook--which is riddled with misspellings and grammatically challenged--notes that students must “wash or shower at least once a day but not more then 2 a day,” and make sure to cleanse “Mouth, sweat areas, hair, feet hands.” (6 pages)

Here's the first page of the "rule book." This guy's about as sharp as a marble (typed exactly as it appears)...the second excerpt is from the last page:

The goal of the Academy is for each student to develop a stabile lifestyle of Discipline in order to become a strong apostolic Fife Fold Minister in our Apostolic Ministry System.

-Sunday uniform for the Sunday service, after the service, change for the work afternoon.
-Clothe must been cleaned and ironed as practiced.
-Students are not supposed to take off the uniform during there working and service time in exchange with separate clothe. Exceptions only after receiving permission.
-Wash or shower at least once a day but not more than 2 a day, Showers are done in 5-7 minutes to save water and money.
-Mouth, sweat areas, hair, feet hands,
-Monday is laundry day, look at cleaning plan.
