What I find ironic is we will criticize the evolving mask policy ... that it is so confusing ... yet like this policy here which seems to require a moderator to close the thread because of prior poster behavior ...
this change mentioned above --- is because of passenger behavior.
There are those FAs who are too invested in the CDC recommendations ... wanna talk confusion in changes and nonsense, 'here's your sign.' ... but the VAAST majority of crews just want to get the job done and go home and minimize the drama.
The government makes that a challenge with their TSA screening. Folks arrive at the airplane all spooled up. Managements make that a challenge with the airline's passenger service policies constantly changing, but worse, pressuring gate agents with an "OUT" time (door closing) while also expecting them to run the flight processing solo in many cases. this creates errors which must be corrected by the Captain. Which delays the flight's progress.
Most of the inane rules the airlines have are in place ... because of passenger misbehavior. A large portion of our operating procedures are written in blood --- past mishaps.
This should actually attest to the "less than perfection" in our kind and once again, the need for grace. The need for The Savior.
Something else should be gleaned from all these rules; power is being consolidated. Now why would THAT be?
