Has anyone seen the Fox News Specials the past few days on Religion? This is the second interview in two days I have seen where Fox News has attacked Christianity. Among the attacks are:

    1. This first one is the major attack: Those who believe in an exclusive view of Christianity (There is only one God and there is no other way to God except through Jesus) are fundamentalists extremists who don't speak for Christianity, and are as bad as Islamic extremists. I just heard the latest installment of this attack about 5 minutes ago with Major Garretts interview with some guy named Feiller. They talked about this idea as if it is a common view in Christianity, and that the belief in Christ alone is in fact, commonly recognized as the most dangerous idea of Christianity.

    2. The Second one is the idea that homosexuality is ok.

    3. The idea that religious pluralism and ecumenicalism (all roads lead to God universalism) is taught in the Bible.

It is inevitable that every year, the major news networks try to redefine Christianity for us using their so called experts. I, for one, am sick of it. I wish they would stick with what they are good at: reporting the news and doing political commentary, and close their mouths about religion.

    What say you?

 No I haven't seen them do it. I've seen every other channel do it. I hate to hear that! Email them.

All can be tolerated but the intolerant, and none are considered more intolerant than Christians who take Jesus at his word that he is the only way to the Father.

If you can somehow convince yourself that a balloon of a solid color is black and white at the same time, then you will be able to adjust your theology to accommodate the word's expectations.

Didn't hear the first one but the second one isn't an attack on Christianity, just a disagreement with something Christianity teaches.

#3 isn't an attack, either, just a misunderstanding.

Joseph, there really are attacks on Christianity in the media but I don't believe that these are attacks.

    Mike,

You are wrong. The Bible teaches the exact opposite of those things. It is not a simple disagreement within Christianity. It is an attack on Christianity.

I don't know why anyone is surprised that secular tv networks redefine, undermine, or attack Christianity. Jesus said the world hated Him, and that hasn't changed.

I don't believe that a disagreement or a misunderstanding is an attack. It's just another opportunity for us to speak up for the truth,

Just because Fox is reporting someone'e opinion does not mean that Fox is attacking Christianity.

Could it be that they are not reporting the point of view we hold so some simply want to kill the messenger?

Why do so many Christians think it's important for the world to conform to us? Christ commanded us to be in this world but not of this world. In my view, I don't care whether the government or the schools or the media supports Christianity or not. Christ said that true Christians would be persecuted for their faith. I'd guess about 1% of American Christians have been persecuted for their faith.

I've talked to an Indian couple who were in danger for their lives because they converted from Hinduism to Christianity. And we get upset because the broadcast news doesn't preach Christianity? Changing the government or the media should not be our top priority as it seems to be today. Changing the hearts of individuals should be our top priority.

Nope. Major Garrett was clearly agreeing with these ideas, and indeed promoting them. When the transcript arrives, read it for yourself on the Brit Hume show part of the website.

Here is the guy they were interveiwing:

I get upset when the broadcast news preaches demonic liberal theology, passes it off as Christianity with their Spong version of a liberal theologian, and then demonizes those of us who (gasp) believe that Jesus is the only way.

    Rupert Murdock owns Fox:

    http://rightweb.irc-online.org/profile/1304

Here is a quote about him from another site:

“In 1988, Harper & Row purchased Zondervan which prints many of the modern versions of the bible. Rupert Murdock gained the printing rights to the NIV when he became the owner of Harper Collins (previously Harper & Row).
Murdock’s other holdings include Fox T.V., 20th Century Fox, T. V. Guide, and Bart Simpson. A Chicago Tribune writer recently called Rupert Murdock “The Prince of Darkness.” Murdock (through The News Corporation) publishes the British newspaper, the Sun, notorious for its nude pin-ups.”

If I remember correctly, he also owns the company that prints the satanic bible.

I do not think that a news network interviewing various people that may not agree with my understanding of the Bible is an attack on Christianity in general nor on my beliefs in particular. I also do not have a conniption when someone being interviewed on TV or the radio does not agree with me.

There is a solution to this for any TV channel or radio station or website that one does not like - do not watch the station or do not listen to the radio station or do not visit the website.

If you doubt that Jesus is the only way, you are disagreeing with Jesus himself since he was very clear on that point. To say otherwise is to cut the heart out of Christianity. But they don't just disagree. They consider the exclusivity of Jesus a dangerious thing, and consider those who believe it, dangerous.

Well, since Al Franken says such mean things about Mr. Murdoch then he must be doing something right. [IMG]

No non-believer likes the exclusive claims of Jesus for good reason -- it condemns them. Non-believers do not want to be judged, so they want to present Christianity lite -- a good, moral religion that teaches people to give and love others. That is very non-threatening.

Exactly. This is not just about expressing a differing opinion. This is about demonizing true Christian Theology and those who hold to it. This is also about presenting these Spong wanna be's as the voice of mainstream Christianity. Talk about defamation. But, this is also about the reporters agreeing with the heresy and demonization of Christians and pushing an anti-Christian agenda. It is demonic.
