Frank: Congress should not bypass the election results

Rep. Barney Frank (D-Mass.) released a statement Tuesday night warning that it would be wrong "to pass a health care bill as if the Massachusetts election had not happened."

The statement seems to advocate against ramming reform through Congress before Republican Scott Brown is seated and acknowledges that the House-Senate-White House negotiations are likely over.

In many ways the campaign in Massachusetts became a referendum not only on health care reform but also on the openness and integrity of our government process. It is vital that we restore the respect of the American people in our system of government and in our leaders. To that end, I believe it would only be fair and prudent that we suspend further votes on health care legislation until Senator-elect Brown is seated.

Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-N.Y.), one of the leading advocates for health reform in the House, urged fellow Democrats to heed the message of Massachusetts and pivot toward creating jobs, perhaps with a health-care component added in.

"If there isn't any recognition that we got the message and we are trying to recalibrate and do things differently, we are not only going to risk looking ignorant but arrogant,” he said.

These guys were all in favor of ramming this bill through before this upset.

Not likely..... They'll follow their usual pattern: They'll pretend to turn away for a while. One good nights sleep.... and they'll wake and think it was just a dream that they forgot: Then, when they feel we're too distracted to notice.... they'll try to ram it down again.

Unfortunately, it is all to easy to overestimate the mentality of the average voter. All these Marxists have to do is talk conservative again, and by November (if there is an election) the average voter will have forgotten.
