Donna, I've had a Yahoo account for over a decade and have enjoyed it. The SPAM filter works well, plenty of room for storage, and will download to my Outlook. If you have questions, feel free to PM and I can get specific.
I also have a Yahoo account, and have had it for many years, but I have to say that Gmail does a better job in my opinion with the spam and the advertisements.Not_hard_to_find said:
Yes, Gmail has ads, but they are hardly noticed, unlike Yahoo where the screen is plastered with ads.
As far as the email functions and all go, it's a coin toss, but I think Gmail does a better job at presenting your email to you in a clean, easy to read/understand form.
Donna, sign up for them both and see which one you like better.

So I just used the cell phone link to sign up with GMail, and I'm playing around with it, and I'm thinking, "why didn't I do this sooner?!?"
The ability to send mail with the e-mail address from one of my other accounts (Juno, for example) is awesome. The only thing better would be if I could actually check my Juno e-mail through GMail.
And the ability to "download" your GMail into Outlook, Outlook Express, Thunderbird, or other programs....
Yep, the only feature missing is the ability to view your e-mail from other accounts.

I have that in a round about way... I have set my other emails to forward a copy to my Gmail account.
I then set up my Gmail account to look for email being sent to jamie@otherdomain.com email and then flag it and place in in a folder.
I have my companies email going this way, so if I my laptop suddenly stops working, I can access my company email from any computer while away on business.
I currently have eight different email adresses running through Gmail and it's great!

I have a couple of church addreses, for pastor and info in a pop account - they all come through gmail and I never access those pop accounts. The only email account I ever have to check is my main gmail one. The nice thing is you can set it so that it replies from the same address it was sent to.

I too use both yahoo and gmail, but also like Juno, now that they have expanded the storage capacity. The address book works very well and is very clean and clear, with the ability to sort on different fields. www.juno.com
