You can store them on an online site .... if you do not want to do that buy a big external hard drive. They are not expensive.
Right click on the start button and choose explore. This will open a window listing your drives. Right click on the c drive and choose properties. This will open a window that will have a pie chart and show how much space is left on the hard drive. This should tell you if the drive is about out of memory. If it is, moving pictures to an external hard drive or burning them to cd/dvd and removing them would work.
You could also remove any unused programs to gain space.
There is another utility called disk cleanup. It is usually located in start/programs/accessories/system tools Run it and it will find temporary files, internet files etc that can be removed. It will list them and allow you to pick and choose what you want to delete.
If you have lots of space on your hard drive open your help file and search for virtual memory and find out how to open the window for that. There is an option to allow windows to run virtual memory for you. Check it if it is blank and see if that helps.
Virtural memory is a process by which windows takes part of your hard drive and uses it as if it were system memory. If the hard drive is short on memory the virtual memory will not function properly.
There is also an option to set the virtual memory to a set value which is usually I THINK a percentage of your hard drive - can't remember.
If you don't find something list your computer make/model/operating system.

You could also defrag your hard drive to free up wasted space. It can work wonders.
You will find Windows defragmenter in (All) Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Disk Defragmenter.
I use CCleaner to clear out all the junk taking up space. It is a handy little program, as it can also clean up your registry, uninstall programs, and pare down your startup items.
