It is often stated by the Calvinist that one has ‘freedom to do as one wills.’ This is to say that the will is free to act as God necessitates it to act. My question to the list is whether or not such a notion depicts freedom or necessity and why? If the will is necessitated to evil and lacks the abilities to respond to salvations message apart from God enabling it to do so, and only those such enabled are able to respond, how is freedom predicated of the will in any sense? Are not the abilities of contrary choice an absolute prerequisite of freedom?
