It looked good (like I have time to be on another Board).

But stopped cold. It requires you to use only the KJV. That is their privilege.

My privilege to RUN LIKE CRAZY away from such a mindset.

    Dr. Bob
Thank you, Jesus, for Your Word and for many good English translations of it.

Thanks so much for that info even though I haven't had to time to really browse it. I also want to say a great big [IMG] to KJV only.

    Wow,

I just read some posts from BrianT over there, debating Westcott and Hort. He showed grace and patience in his posts, and a couple of posters went ballistic ("you ruined the board for me!"), etc. I signed up over there. We'll see what happens.

Please don't let it become a stone of stumbling. I hope you know how I mean this, Doc, only for good, not evil.

It isn't a stumbling stone to me. I grew up with the KJV and have great respect for it. Only version I memorize.

But as soon as someone says that's ALL I can use - throw away your Hebrew, shut your Greek, no other English translation allowed; and that is exactly what this site stated - I will not waste minute one on it.

Pretty hard to have a debate or discussion without a foundation, other than the thoughts of Erasmus and a bunch of paedobaptizing Anglicans.

No thanks. But as I said, if you are into that, go for it. [IMG]

No thanks, I'm with Dr. Bob on this one. It seems so narrow minded. Not only KJVO, but no CCM.

Now I saw where they asked for only the King James to be used in the posts, but I fail to see where referencing the Hebrew and Greek were denied.

Maybe it's just to avoid confusion. Still I wouldn't let my stand on the KJB prevent fellowship with those who prefer other versions. The reason is this, Though I'm staunch KJB, the lost world 99.9% of the time knows absolutely nothing of the matter, If I don't appear to get along with some one who claims to be a Christian to the lost world who is already in turmoil, why should I expect them to come to the invitation to even more turmoil? It shouldn't be that way, now should it?

If it comes to apostacy, now that's where I let it be known, but just because one takes the stand on the KJB, there isn't even a hint of that.

An niv was found in a KJB 1611, plaque on the front of the pulpit with a sword and the AV1611"insignia". The pastor quietly took posession from a concerned member and placed it in his study until some one claimed it. Also I noticed a few other than the KJB on the same shelf, all w/o names to locate the owners to give them back. No one to my knowledge ever asked for them, either they were convinced these were not right and just left them in the pew, or they felt intimidated on seeking it out to gain them back. I suppose no one will ever know. Now that is some what confusing, because I know the pastor and he wouldn't "scold" them for it or anything. I'm just wondering, if he isn't really offended, and is caring enough to hold them for safe keeping from somebody who might trash them, why is it the holders of these versions offended at the KJVO stand? That just doesn't make sense why some one would demean a persons stand in this regard.

I do have to say this and without vulgarity, but I have visted OnlineBaptist.com and there is a sweet spirit I detect, sweeter than the one in the Bible versions translations section, that's for sure!

If that is a rebuke, well, alright, it is then, though I don't have any malice in it, so please don't read that into it. I'm just stating the truth.

It's still Brother Ricky isn't it? or have I excluded myself from fellowship now?

I wonder what the difference the effect on King Saul would be if David had played ccm? Somehow I can picture Davivd's legacy coming to an abrupt end before there ever was a javelin thrown at him.

I can just picture scenes of Dan and Dick, Lily, Joann,Goldie, and the rest of the cast sporting psychodelic crosses, peace signs, and huge loud colored daisies around Saul's throne while little David played his ukelelee. [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

The prime directive of bulletin boards:
    Read before posting.

I've been a member there for months.
    I'll never post there.
    No variance of opinion
or how one expresses that opinion is allowed.

Sounds like conformity rather than unity. Or perhaps conformed but not informed.

For those of us who are sure, it's uniformity.

It's due to being conformed to His Son's Image, and not to the image of man.IOW, it's we're informed by the LORD, not by the antics of men.

Unlike the historic (last century [IMG] ) IFB,
    the neo/liberal-IFB seem to teach:

    1. distain edumication
    2. distain success
    3. distain alternate opinions
    4. distain people
    5. distain other people's Bible

Seems like a lot of distaining going on here :(

I went to a web page of a neo-IFB pastor.
The picture of the church was taken by the pastor's
wife. The church members in the picture were 12:
1 pastor, 3 natural children, 3 fostor children,
and 5 other church members. Not baptizing a lot
of folks there, not successful, but this is
alright -- successful people have obviously sold
    themselves out to the Devil.

Real historical IFB-persons, by contrast, are
    the salt of the earth.

Hey Dr. Bob, it seems you are quite "popular" over there in their bible forum. They quote you quite frequently, even your comment from this very thread to RUN LIKE CRAZY from it (their board).

You know, it's really sad that they "ban" any reference from any other than the KJV. I guess they are afraid of the truth, that the KJV isn't the ONLY english bible with the pure Words of God in it :( :(

Oh well, I think I'll stay around here. Although everyone here will probably never see eye to eye on the KJVO issue, at least the powers that be have the common sense to allow scripture references from ALL bibles.

    God Bless!!!

Actually, it might be refreshing where one doesn't have to feel "put down" because they believe the KJB is the only one that has stood the test and fiery darts of time, LOL. [IMG]

Who needs one more "my MV is the correct version and better than your version" thread? ;) [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

    Dr. Bob,

You have absolutely been demonized on that board. By watching them talk, one would have thought you were John Shelby Spong.

What a pitiful group of people they are.

Please remember that we have a versions forum where individual version choices and convictions can be debated. This forum has not been the place for this and will not be in the future. Lord willing.

I did it again. I just couldn't keep my mouth shut. (or fingers still) I went to the above mentioned site and realizied that I had signed up there before, but never posted. They think we are all on our way to Hell! Just the MV's of course. They even called us Baptist bullies [IMG] That's Ok, I'd rather be called names for standing up for the truth than have the world's applause! Hey, Christ got crucified and I'm noway better than him. I gave a post over there, but it will probably be deleted and I'll probably be banned. Hallalujah!!!!
