Genesis 23 gives an account of the death of Sarah. This appears to be the first mention of a death of a woman.

There was no details on the death of Eve, Mrs Noah, ect.

Why do you suppose no mention was made of their deaths, until Sarah died?

Interesting question Salty. I am not sure I have the answer, but the first thought to arise in my mind is that perhaps it is because much was said about the life of Sara in comparison to previously mentioned women. She seems to have a rather large role in God´s redemptive history.

The Bible doesn't tell us everything there is or was....

....just everything we need to know.

We don't know about Mary's death, either. Or Joseph's for that matter.

I do think that Sara's death was put in the Bible for a reason. Not many women's deaths are commented on in the Bible, so when they are, it is significant.

I am guessing it's because she was Abraham's wife and the signficance of Abraham's lineage, more or less what 4His glory said.

Sarah's death is the reason for Abrahams first acquisition in the land of promise
...a rather important event.
